I was planning on registering for the Columbia SC match today, but the weather does NOT look good at all for Saturday. What happens if I register/pay and it is cancelled? Not only that, but the site for the Columbia match, Mid Carolina Rifle Club, does not have a phone number. Bad enough if I get there and its cancelled, but I certainly dont want to drive for two hours if it was cancelled before I even left and I couldnt find out. Also, if it is cancelled, is my money refunded? There really isnt another one that is even remotely close to Charlotte after the Columbia match

I thought Glock matches went on rain or shine. Just kidding. A little rain is not a big deal, but it looks like it get pretty nasty up that way this weekend. High winds and lots of rain just do not make for a fun day in my book. Good Luck to everyone planning to attend and lets just hope the storm moves on its merry way by Saturday.

Years ago the match in Waldorf, MD was delayed about two hours on that Saturday due to heavy rains and a tornado warning. Just days before a tornado leveled parts of Waldorf. It was nasty in the rain and mud. I had to throw away my shoes when I got home.

Think in terms of road closures due to downed trees and powerlines.

A couple of hundred GSSF members sleeping in their cars for a night or two because they cannot move.

    Or worse!

Going ahead with this match is going to take serious consideration.

Columbia, SC is 90+ miles inland. We'll see. The real problem is if the Governor calls for an evacuation of the coastal areas. That will stress the hotel situation in Columbia and inland areas. It may cause alot of traffic on the evac. routes too.

Forgot to add, bring ya chainsaw too.

I have two rooms reserved and ready!
