Just thought I would ask you guys for your thoughts and prayers. My department just lost one of our retired Chiefs.

Chief Ward was one of those iconic men. He was a FBI Academy Graduate, Northwestern and UGA graduate.

When he retired he had the distinction as the longest serving Police Chief in the country-36 years as chief. He has been a constant in my life since I was born. He practically was a second father to my dad.(Dad was 19 when Chief Ward hired him). Besides my father, he was one of the largest influences in my police career so far.:fallenofficer:

RIP Chief, you've earned your reward.

May I ask, which city or county?

Thanks guys for your support. This isn't the first time, I've dealt with losing a brother officer, but one of the hardest.

Anyone who's influenced two generations of a family to enter into and be proud of this profession has my respects.
