Years ago all I had was 1911's then I got into some other guns glock H&K and many others all great guns. But for some reason I have been drawn back to the 1911. I dont know if its because this platform has been around for 100 years or because I can shoot them really well or what. I think I am in love all over again. Here are my two recent purchases. A kimber crimson carry II and a Kimber custom TLE II.

All of those reasons and more...
The 1911's are classy guns with "soul".
Something that plastic guns will never have no matter how good a gun they are.

I tried all the new wonder guns. Sold most of them and bought 3 1911's last year. I'm sorry I waisted a decade on second rate guns.

    Hey maineglocker,
I've been there... as the son of a 1911 Custom Pistol-maker I grew up with and on the 1911! Dad died in 1987 just as the Glock was coming into its own. I personally got interested in the Glock after my son was issued a Glock 22 as his duty weapon on the Police force. Dad would probably roll over in his grave knowing that I was shooting/carrying a Tupperware gun but would take great pride that I am shooting with my son as he did with me
