Yep. At least you've got one in the best caliber.

I like both calibers.

I like the extra round capacity and KE of 10mm.
Applying the two is one, cause one might be none philosophy.
I also have a Ruger 10mm 1911

Before I got the 10mm's I had traditional 45 acp versions.
If I want to go 45 my ED Brown Special Forces or Les Baer UTC are on standby.

Mine was actually for a Glock 21/30, took hairdryer to it heated and reshaped, pistol rides deep, helping with concealment, easily concealed under loose untucked polo, muzzle sticks out for minimal holster, which I like.

Not the slide, which is quite a bit thinner and the part that would go IWB.

Just slip a 1911 into a USP Compact holster and it will really show how much of a difference.

Slide width, but especially length.
Slide length is just long enough to get past/ off my hip, shorter slide digs into one spot, longer distributes contact down section of slide.
Glock 35 has long slide, but toward the end of the day it's uncomfortable, same type holster.
Put 1911 on hip wear all day long, no problem
My opinionated hip prefers 1911.

Those are what I have, 1911 is reliable and all day comfortable, not experimenting further.

Weight is my biggest problem with a 1911 regardless of belt or holster.

A lightweight "commander" size gets weight down with typically same reliability as full size.

My wife has a 1911 Ruger 9mm lightweight CMD that weighs about the same as a Glock 19
She prefers Ruger over Glock 19 for feel and recoil, said Glock had more recoil, same ammo.
My 13 & 14 year old boys both preferred the 9mm 1911 over Glock 19 too.

So ... I got a 1911 Ruger lightweight CMD 45 giving wife the option of larger caliber.
Loaded up 4 mags with 230 FMJ and let her try it, she shot all 4 and loaded them again.
She shot the 45 version slower than 9mm, but likes having it as an alternative.
