I'm keeping my Glock 42 and Ruger LCP.

Just wanted to get that out there!

Any other .380 ACP fans out there?

I'm carrying the .380 with increasing frequency. LCP II, Glock 42, etc. Even toyed with the idea of a PPK. Since I have not deployed a carry gun under threat in the more than 21 years that I have been carrying, my Powernoodle Cost/Benefit Analyzer and Food Processor tells me that carrying a small but effective handgun and cartridge fits in with my lifestyle as someone who carries constantly and shoots bad guys never.

Original LCP, which is now relegated to the reserve collection. This entire Urban Carry Package clocks in at around one pound.

Somebody's got to shoot them :)

If you come to my range, just let me know in advance you're bringing one so I put up the thinner cardboard. We don't want any ricochets.

Glad you like your .380acp. Everyone should go with what they trust and like.
The .380 is the best round that I would never use!
    I have a Beretta model 70 pistol in .380acp.
I have not shot it nor will I shoot it. I just purchased it due to price and I knew there would be ONE person out there that would fall for it, (I meant would be interested in purchasing this fine Beretta model 70 .380 acp pistol) It has been lightly fired, but I have never fired it.

If that’s how you feel...then I hope you are also uncomfortable using a 9mm.

Because anything short of EDC’ing a 500 S&W Magnum is splitting hairs in the real world.

I'm not a fan of the caliber per se, but I'm a HUGE fan of being able to carry a gun as small and light as the LCP.

I like the .380. I have th g42 and the shield 380 ez. Both are fun to shoot. And I use the g42 as a backup in an ankle holster.

The mouse-gun you carry still beats anything else left at home...or in the truck...or the tackle box...etc....first rule of a gunfight; must have a gun
People have defended themselves for decades with the venerable 380 and smaller platforms...I still say with Buffalo Bores 100gn hard-cast, you stand a better chance

I'm waiting for the post "Carrying anything less than a .50 Desert Eagle is just plain ridiculous".

I agree. It will get them off you enough to go get something that would have done a better job in the first place. But then wouldn't it make more sense to carry that in the first place? Seems that if the difference between carrying a G43 vs a G42 mean carrying or not, then something else may be in the equation.

Don't get me wrong, one should carry what they want as it's their right. I admit that they have their place, but am of the opinion that a 9 is the minimum and with many of the micro 9s, it seems it kills two birds with one stone.

Since all handguns are equally ineffective, I'm sticking with my 32 Keltec which is smaller, lighter, and has greater capacity than any small 380. 7+1)

    Mouse guns Rule!

When I was instructing citizens for CHL's...you would hear the gamut of reasons for what they carry; too old, too weak to handle 9mm, "it was a keepsake left to me by...".." my hands are too small"...[it] 9mm is too heavy for me...I could go on and on...I just told them to carry "something" and get good with it...to quote the late, great Col Cooper" when asked about "Mouse Guns" " We could all carry 22's...so long as we hit the bag guys in the eyes"

Just can't do it. I have an LCP that's a handy back up gun. But primary has got to be either a 9MM with 124 Grain Golden Saber or a .45 Golden Saber 185 Grain. CZ's, of course. Don't worry about people calling your choice a "Mouse Gun". If it suits you that's all that matters. Remember they called the M-16 a "poodle shooter". IMG_3451.JPG IMG_3453.JPG

Had an LCP for years - great shorts gun. Sold it for an LCR in .38/.357mag. Practice with .38p+ and CCW with .357 and a speedloader. Bring enough gun.

Terry, I am fond of my CZs as well. Just ordered a Valor in .45acp. Best firearms at nearly any price point.

Strange thing. I was into C&R guns and bought a CZ82 for $190.00 direct from a dealer. I thought I got beat as the gun appeared to have no rifling. Polygon barrel, of course. Anyway, I shot it at 7, 15, and 25 yards and couldn't believe the accuracy. This is a military surplus gun and it shoots like this? I tracked down a P-01 and the rest is history. P-01 for warm weather, P-09 for hiking, 97 for cold weather. 75b and PCR because. Good luck with your Valor.
