I recently bought a LEO 45 GAP trade in from fellow GTr win and my local gunshop called me today to pick it up. I know by now you're asking yourself what this has to do with the 10 Ring.

Well...be prepared to view the ultimate happiness that followed me home. Hopefully I can get this picture to post, but it's my NEW FDE Gen4 G20. I'm as giddy as a school girl the night of her 1st prom.:embarassed:

I was tempted to post in " Family Picture: Post your 10mm Toy(s) here", but "Bertha" was just screaming for her own spot. I hope I didn't offend anyone. Bertha I Love ya like only a 10 Ringer can.

I did forget to mention that in addition to the 2 FDE backstraps she also came with the 2 new beavertail glock backstraps as well. I've never really needed or used them on a full sized frame, but it was nice that they were included. I'm not sure I got a great price, but since they are so hard to find I felt good with the $600 price tag.:bluesbrothers:The more I fondle Bertha, the deeper my love grows.:ladiesman: I think I need a 12 step program for this.:tease:

I know it may sound crazy to some, but the G20 is the best 10mm for me bar none. I've tried the 10mm government models, I was the 1st owner in my state of 2 different 10XX model S&W's (which I still have by the way), I briefly had an EAA Witness in 10 which was good/ok, but just didn't do it for me. I even had a fluted cyl and an unfluted cyl S&W 610 who both were awesome in their own right, but alas the were traded for a crotch rocket I had wanted for years.

When all is said and done my 10XX S&Ws and my 2 G20's (a Gen3 G20SF and my FDE Gen4) along with my 2 G29's will be with me until at least the end of my time on this earth. "Guns may come and guns may go, but my 10's will always remain.

$600 isn't bad. I would have considered that as a slightly high price before this round of crazy prices. I think they used to go for around $550-575.

Given today's market, I would say that you got a good deal.

I felt it was a little high as well. 6 months ago I paid $550 for my Gen3 G20 from them and yesterday they still had several lesser calibers in their case for $499. It's just been so long since I saw a FDE Gen4 G20 I got carried away. The sad thing is I've been seeing people paying $700 and $800 for the same gun. Wish I had the $$$ to buy the last one they had in stock in the back room. Did I mention I loves my 10mms?

In this day a price jump like that, or a difference between shops is NBD AFAIC.

Besides my Gen 3 SF my other 10 is an EAA Witness. Great gun of its type but I do think the Glock raised the bar and actually made a full size, high cap 10 "carryable". I am still keeping my eyes open for a 1911 10 because I have so much time in on the 1911 and holsters by the basket full.

I think the Glock is the most practical way to get into the 10mm and one folks shouldn't get rid of if they get bitten by the 10mm bug. It has done for the 10mm what the Bren Ten was supposed to.

That's where I'm headed, but I am on a binge to fill my long time "bucket list" at the moment. When the smoke clears from that the RIA is next on my list.

Well, I finally had a chance to run some Underwood full power
ammo through Bertha and all I can say is WOW. I thought I was
totally over the moon with my G20SF, but the more time I spend
with my Gen4 Bertha the more I wonder how I could ever let
her go. "Long live the polymer 10mm." :wavey:

I'm green with envy! I've had a G20/4 on order for weeks, and I expect it will be much longer before it comes in. Congrats on a fantastic get!

    Congrats!

I just picked up a Gen3 a week or so ago for 550 otd... soooo..
    Gen4? And FDE? For 600?
    Excellent score, my good man!

Glad to hear she shoots so well to boot! The Gen4 was what I was originally looking for, but I just couldn't be patient enough, lol.

    Congrats on a great gun!
