I'm selling [trying to at least] a truck on craigslist. I got that same email from 3 different people JUST yesterday. You would think that they would come up with some new material. People must still be falling for these scams otherwise they wouldn't keep doing it, right? It's really irritating.

I've been responding with general treats of bad fortune like....I hope you choke on your next meal, get run over in a crosswalk, etc. I know I'm bad but I'm tired of it.

Last rig I sold on Craigslist I probably got that response between 30 and 40 times so get ready to field some emails ;] On the bright side it finally sold to a real buyer in about a week, I got my price and it cost me $5. So there is hope.

I made millions by helping out a Nigerian once. The deal was totally legit and I was glad I could him inherit his rightful fortune.

I get those kind of replies to my Armslist ads all the time...

"I really, REALLY want the gun you're selling, but I live out of state. So I'll send you a check, then have someone come pick up the gun and take it to an FFL to have it shipped to me."

Since they charge $5 to sell cars I see them listed in other areas. A $40k car listed in farm and garden section. By a dealer, but marked by owner.
    Stereotypical used car sales person.

I have enjoyed equipment dirt cheap with pictures taken from sakes lots.
A JD FWA loader @70hp cab, 350 hours....$12000 listed in North MN. It's actually in Nebraska. " but I have a friend who will deliver it girl me at that price". "Brothers tractor, he is in hospital, no time to deal with showing it"...
I learn where they claim it is. Tell them I will be there anytime next week with my trailer, and cash, and take it if it's tractor pitchured. It starts, bucket operates, it can drive on my trailer at the asking price. No further contact. By cell, or email.

Cashier's Checks are the spawn of the devil. OK, that might be a bit strong. Unless you really know the person, do not take a Cashier's Check. I cannot tell you how many people in my little town fell for that scam, thinking a Cashier's Check was like cash. They ain't...

Oh, and there is no such thing as a Cashier's Check from outside the United States. Again, I've seen that scam as well.

I don`t do any business with anti-gun businesses or corporations. Craigslist is anti-gun. I wont even sell a bunny turd on their site. Biggest scamming site i`ve ever seen, too.

    CL is scam central.

I make sure the first line says I will not do business with anyone unless in person...weeds out some of them but not all.
