sometimes a lower tech, mindless "shoot 'em up" game (torpedo-ing ships, depth charges on subs, artillery, etc.) might be just the ticket.

any on-line games which don't require money, your life story, etc?

    Thanks.

I'm not much of a gamer either, though I was in my teens. I like gaming on a computer better than a console, so that's the platform where I base my recommendations. The Batman Arkham series was a blast to play. There are free demos for the first two. Insteall the Steam client first from http://store.steampowered.com/about/ then go to the links below. Once there, just look for the blue text button by itself on the right half of the screen that says Download Demo. It blends in with the design of the page and is hard to spot sometimes. http://store.steampowered.com/app/35140/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1 and http://store.steampowered.com/app/200260/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1 If you have any technical issues where the game won't load, shoot me a PM. I have a couple tricks.

I've been playing the 2016 Doom remake. It has some good updates over the original from the early 90s, but still isn't much more complicated. You navigate some corridors and platforms while killing anything that moves.

In the same genre is the Painkiller series.

Should you want to try a free MMORPG, Guild Wars 2 is a solid title.

strategy games, but satisfying. lots of tanks, guns. Starcraft 2 has multiple "death scenarios". If a guy gets roasted by a flamethrower, it will look different from the next guy you roast.

I'm not a gamer and don't know much about this stuff. But Call of Duty "Ghosts" is my favorite. You can play that offline with bots. Pick the map you want, the number of bots to play against, and their skill level.

Awesome shoot em up game :)

This is the 4th installment. It's pretty damn good. The only people that might hate it are the ones that want rocket boots, teleports and being able to run on walls.
There is no jumping around like a retard or running head on and taking on the whole team like rambo. It takes way more strategy and skill than the typical console shooter.
