    Hey fellow Glockers,

Can anyone recommended some good ranges around the Mandeville, Covington, or Hammond area?

    Thank you

Honey Island Swamp is the best.

How about going to Bayou Sorrel? Looks like Junior and Willie Edwards could use some help.

The state's motto is "Sportsmen's Paradise" or something like that.
Fishing, hunting, shooting... yep. Good stuff.

My ex-wife's parents lived in Monroe, LA. When we would go see them, it was fishing every day (bass/brim), and just being in the woods some. I miss it.

Welcome to the Sportsman's Paradise! I'm in the northwest corner, so I'm not familiar with the Northshore area. Maybe Certifiedfunds will be along.

Bass Pro Shops has a pistol range at their store in Denham Springs and there is an outdoor range at the Honey Island Swamp WMA near Slidell. There are 3 private ranges closer to Covington. One is run by Barrett Kendrick with Bearco Training, one by Bill Long with Gulf Coast Shooters, and one by Tommy Wong. Barrett, Bill, and Tommy usually reserve their ranges for classes.

Just came back from Louisiana (Lafayette area) and had a blast. Great food, even better people!

OK that's both funny and statistically true.

    I can't help with that.

However, it's imperative, IMO, to ask if the boiled mud-bugs you and your family are about to devour are "purged" or "unpurged". You'll strongly prefer purged I'm guessing.

    Bah...purging is a myth.

You want them washed well but there is no purging.

Yep, I've tried the salt bath twice. No workey. Myth busted.
