After 2 months of owning a new G36, I've come to terms with the fact that I don't like the recoil or the interchangeability. I want the gen 4 G19 and I've got a lot of offers. Here in MA , the G36 will sell for $700 easy.

Update 8/25. I traded the 36 for a new Gen4 G19. I have never felt a gun that shoots and carries better than the 19. Simply amazed at how good of a gun it is.

I like my 36 but I like the 19 as well. Glock or Lonewolf will refinish the barrel for a nominal fee. If it does not suit you you might as well get rid of it.

Haha a 2.5 gen G26 just sold at a shop for $695. And they deal with a huge volume. The SR22 is $289 there and the SR9c is $399. Goes to show that we pay a lot for our Glocks.

So the 36 has some recoil ? I almost bought one but decided on the gen 3 19. The main reason for the 36 was for carry being slimmer. Having a hard time right now deciding what holster for the 19. 700 is strong $ for that 36 ,must be your area.

I have shot a lot of Glocks and I feel the G36 recoil is more than a G19 but not much.

Recoil be damned.... it's not designed to be a "range" gun.

If you don't care for the recoil of a 45, whatever you do, never purchase a 40, 357 sig, or 10MM! You will be very displeased! Of course, if you are going to get, $700, for a used 36, by all means, get one of each, then sell them. With your profits, you'd get a free gun!

I don't like the 40, I should have just bought the G19. But yeah, even Gen 2 G22's sell here for around $549, even in horrible condition. Maybe only some of you know that Glock will not sell new Glocks in MA. Only private sales and handguns made before 1998 are the exceptions.

any short barrel gun worth caarying, 9mm to 45 will have a fair amount of recoil. maybe you should rent a g19 and find out how it compares. a few lessons in firing and recoil control might be useful.:wavey:

I'd just get the seller to either come off the price because of the barrel or pass. If you are going to get it refinished check into IONbond. Might as well upgrade the finish.

Thanks! I was skeptical too, he said he polished off the barrel because the wear starting exposing the steel. Sounded fishy to me! I might just buy a new G19 Gen 4.

I've polished the barrels on about half the Glocks I have owned.
