I've been shooting other guns for a couple of years, then I picked up my G19 and it felt so natural, I wondered why I put it away.
Any way, I was travelling through Atlanta and decided to take my damaged Gen2 G17 to Smyrna for a new frame. The original one got peanut butter on it, thank you son, then the dog got ahold of it, thanks Max. I removed the damaged part with a hacksaw and it took 15 round mags perfectly. But it was ugly, so today I took the opportunity to stop by glock for a replacement frame.
They changed the frame, but didn't stop there. Springs, new sights, 3.5 connector, brought it up to Gen 3 configuration. The only part from the lower frame that made it into the new one was the extended mag release.
I'm very impressed and very happy. I was in and out in just under an hour. Best 150$ I've spent in a long time.
The man that took care of me also told me that in the next month or so, it will be possible to get Glocks stamped USA rather than Austria. That would be cool.

Carrying my G19 again is very comforting.

Sounds like a economical fix. I wonder what a Glock with peanut butter tastes like.

I was very impressed with the willingness to help the only time I contacted Smyrna. Sounds like they treated your right.

Let me try to figure this out.

Dog chewed your G17 grip, so you cut to G19 length, then you took that gun to Glock and paid them $150 to fix it, and they gave you a new G19 frame and other new parts. But it still has the G17 slide and G17 barrel?

Or does a G19 really have nothing to do with this story, other than you got your G17 fixed, but you like carrying your G19 anyways :)
