Well, I got this M1A for Christmas this year and today my EBR stock arrived for it. I plan to add a bipod, VFG and some type of either scope or Eotech with magnifier.

    on to the pics!

Had to throw my M4gery in there!

I feel very fortunate to own both of my dream rifles.

I plan to eventually put a socom or scout in the EBR, but for now, this is good.

That was my debate too, but I have settled on a Scout with black stock over the Socom because I don't need the rails and I prefer the 18" barrel over the 16" but the only thing that is still nagging me is that the Socom has ghost rings while the Scout has the regular rifle sights.

For me it's just a matter of which one I find a better deal on.

Unless you find a smoking deal on something used, the $400 difference in retail prices mean pretty much the Scout.

I am not considering the Socom16, only the Socom II urban camo which is $1850.

I've been looking but most used ones are the walnut stock plain models or M1A Loaded with the walnut stock... or the full boat Sage stock Socom EBR tricked out for Blackhawk Down II aftermarket modded to death guns.

I just want a simple black stocked 18" M1A with the forward Scout rail so I can put an Aimpoint M2 or M3 on it and be done.

I like the modded guns to a point. I want the EBR stock on the socom(scout) either one... an ACOG and a VFG. maybe a bipod thats it

The ebr is sweet but it feels horrible for iron sights. Need optic but funds are low. Don't know if in gonna go with the acog or not now. Been looking at them today and might not be what I'm looking for.

I don't mind the single dot as long as it is not the tiny little one. I can deal with a 4MOA dot.

Leupold has a great 1-4 scope that would be perfect.

Took out the EOTech equipped M4gery yesterday, man that thing is badass! First shot off the bat, took out a bowling pin at 40 yards, snap shot.

The only problem was the sight mount shot loose even though I tightened it with a screwdriver.

Do you guys locktite the thing?
