    Yes.

A 40cent 10mm round would have saved a whole lot court cost and transportation costs.
    Seems like good economics.

We should put a dog chip (ID chip) in the sternum of all illegal immigrants, and an RF responder chip that we put in cars for toll roads.

Reporting back: According to what I've found out, local news reports and information from deputies are mixed about what actually happened. Oklahoma County Jail says they notified ICE and they didn't show up by the time that they, according to jail spokesperson, had to release defendant because of court decisions that detaining him "would be against his constitutional rights" ICE, who has two agents stationed INSIDE the jail, says that they were never notified of the release. Oklahoma County has been the subject of of a litany of difficulties for the past several years, including embezzlement, improper relationships between guards/prisoners, contraband inside smuggled in by guards and visitors and shoddy command/control and has been the subject of several investigations. So far, no proof of either side's story has come to light. If I remember correctly, the "constitutional rights" decisions were all out of the Ninth District, which Oklahoma is not a part of. Besides, how can an illegal immigrant, not from this country, have his "constitutional rights" violated when he is not a citizen of the country?

The Constitution restrains the government, and it restricts what government can do to anybody under its jurisdiction, not just citizens.

Again I ask, what constitutional rights from the United States are conferred to an illegal immigrant? We, as American citizens, are not accorded the rights in a foreign country of a citizen of that country. Human rights should not be violated under any circumstances, but constitutional rights are conferred to citizens, not aliens, and especially not illegal aliens.

The issue here is that ICE is playing word games and various Sheriffs are asshats. The Sheriff issue can be taken care of at the next election cycle or by passing a county ordinance mandating compliance. If the population wants it.

ICE should stop with the idiotic requests for retainer BS. Issue federal arrest warrants for these folks and start charging folks who ignore the warrants with crimes. Why is it that the feds seem capable of issuing warrants for pot, but not violent criminals??

Firstly, the US is different than most foreign countries, in a good way.

Second, constitutional rights are not conferred to citizens. The rights are "God-given", and God isn't interested in citizenship paperwork (no matter what interpretation of God you prefer). The constitution is in place to prevent the government from violating those God-given rights.

People here illegally have the right to an attorney, and to have one appointed if they cannot afford one.

    Simple.

Stretching back to 1886 there have been about a half dozen Supreme Court rulings dealing with the Constitution's application to illegals. Basically the 14th Amendment guarantees that no state shall deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

'Any person', not just a US citizen.

However, I seem to recall a Supreme Court decision that stated that sheriffs did not have to enforce federal laws.

Yeah, but God has rules on who gets into his kingdom, why should we be any different?

Unless I remember incorrectly, the first ten amendments, known as the Bill of Rights, are the only rights enumerated as "inalienable" or God given. Rights after that are simply amendments to the original document. That is a distinction. As to your second post, I believe you are confusing the scenario which led to the Miranda warning, as interpreted by the Supreme Court, and was not inalienable and not enforced until AFTER said decision. And I certainly don't assume to speak for God as to citizenship, especially when his Son stated "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's", interpreted as follow the law of the land.

That's always been the problem elected officials should be held accountable but after the election they are the ones to make policy and will never allow theirselves to be guilty of their crimes !
