Ahead of Memorial Day, thanks to those past and current members of the military, those that support the military, and families of military members. Let's never forget those that have stood up and fallen for our country. Let's never forget those who have come back wounded physically and mentally and make it our priority as citizens to make sure they receive the care they deserve.

    Thank you.

Wow, TIME, I didn't know you had it in you.

I wonder how much of their regular subscribers cancel because of this...

Doesn't matter, just doesn't matter. IMHO they should be on the cover every year.

Words cannot express the gratitude deserved for the sacrifices made by both those who serve and their families. The nation is eternally grateful.

Here's to remembering the fallen. Thank you to those who served, but this is Memorial Day Weekend - to remember the fallen.

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

I'm really not trying to be a wet blanket, so please take this gently.

Armed Forces day (a few weeks ago) is for honoring those that have served, or are serving, in our Military.

Memorial Day is to honor those that have died serving our country in our Military. As others have noted, Memorial Day is not meant to be a hot-dog grilling, beer guzzling, sale having, party day. It's meant to be a day of somber and quiet reflection, honoring those that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Small point, isn't a big thing.

I don't want to change the tone of this thread, but I didn't see any posts pertaining to hot-dog grilling, beer guzzling, sale having, party day. I'll leave it at that.

I think they said that because I posted a picture of my son yes he is alive. He has done a tour in afghanistan and iraq and I'm very proud of. If you don't like what I posted too bad.
