    I don't know...but I'll tell you this....
If your dog was my baby, your mouse would be in the toilet or dog water bowl.

Where ever your dog lays when you are gone.

Most likely took it for your scent to comfort him while you were gone.

    Good hunting.

I would start looking in poop in a day or so.

    Uh oh.

Does he have a doggy bed?

    Under the couch?

    Near his food/water bowls?

    IN a food/water bowl?

    Under the bed?

Was he let outside after the last time you KNOW you saw the mouse and BEFORE you noticed you could not find it?

Give him a bone and see where he takes it.

I would guess under the couch or in the backyard.

You probably don't want it now anyway. It's been "slimmed."

    No initial success, Dear?

Have you tried the "give him something else" thing? And follow him? If the usual suspects we have suggested failed, I would say that might be the best way to get it back.

An idea when you DO get it back. Since he has found an affinity for it now, is there a way to attach one of them keyfinder beeper thingies to it?
