Let's just assume SHTF and all you had was 223 and a 40cal Glock.
Would the Glock fire it?
Try it and get back to us.
I feel like this question may be so ridiculous I'm being played by even answering it. The short answer is no.. In fact, I don't think the case lip would be big enough to even stay in the chamber.
What if the extractor held the cartridge in place?
The round might go off (assuming all the dimensions work) but since an over charged 40 can KaBoom I'm sure that the additional 20KPsi will turn your glock into a no delay hand grenade.
Actually I don't think the dimensions would work at all; it certainly would jam on ejection.
Maybe since the cartridge would not be tight enough in the barrel there would not be enough pressure to KaBoom the Glock. But enough pressure to fire the projectile.
In that case, the case will split and velocity will be lost; might not even be effective any more.
Matt does it here.
Ok. Then what would contain the pressure? Chamber is a bit on the large side. Assuming it would fire; what kind of accuracy are you looking at having a .223 projectile rattling down a .40 barrel?
This is just too, too wrong.
Videos like this make it very hard for me to buy used guns on gun broker that say slightly used, 50 rounds through it
I felt I had seen this before and you beat me to it
I admit I saw that before I posted. I just wanted to see how many people would say no way it would fire before I posted the video.
Why not hold it in your fist and hit the primer with an icepick?
About the result I had expected.
So in other words you were trolling for a response.
Id say the thread title was a big giveaway....
If you have a death wish ?
If it fired you'd have a cool lookin 223 case.
You can try anything ... ONCE
