would you do it? Strong possibility we may be going in the next two years or so.

*question based on today's climate, I understand anything can happen in two years

Funny you should ask that. My inlaws are making noise about taking us next year to do a Bat Mitzvah tour for Emily, and I used to think "NO WAY IN HECK", but if we can go, I really want to. We know a lot of people who have been multiple times (heck, VR has been twice, but I never have) and everyone has assured me that if you are with a group, it's safe.

I would go as long as I could bring back a few of their women....WOW, but I would also love to see the land.

Off Topic: where abouts in Northern Idaho are you? I used to go to Riggins, ID a lot, I know not really the north, but oh well...talk about gorgeous scenery.

As an agnostic, I don't think I would feel what people go to Israel to experience.

Go, I go back every 2-3 years and it's fine. I actually feel safer in Israel than I do here. The first time I took my wife her only hesitation was getting on a public bus, I didn't mind renting a car b/c taking the bus makes every trip 2x longer (with every stop it makes).

Unfortunately the only time you hear about Israel in the news is when something bad happens, so people always have that association. Go, you'll love it.

I am not a religous person but I'd love to go to Israel if it were not for the current (as in last 5 decades) situation. As it stands I would likely not go and certainly not take my family.

I do believe I am the only person in immediate family who has not gone and my grandparents went at least 20 times.

For that matter, I'd love to go to Egypt and other parts of Africa as well but that sure as hell is not going to happen either.

I still quite vividly remember my trip there in '80 when my dad had a business trip there and took the family for the 3 month trip. We got to see all the biblical sights, it was an experience never to forget. Hope you are able to make it there. Good luck!

See above, it's not Iraq and safer than most inner cities.

I understand, but I don't go into inner cities I cannot carry a gun in either. I would not go to NYC if given a free trip. At least not with my wife and kids.

I'm not religious, but I'd go just for the culture and history.

My parents went once before my dad passed away. My mother has been a volunteer there several times. She'd love to go back again, I know.

I'd love to see the Holy Land, but I don't think my husband would let me go over there now.

    :sigh:

I am not Jewish...but...I would welcome an invitation to contribute to the security of Israel. There are very few "causes" that I pursue...this is one that I truly believe is fundamental to the existence of western civilization
