...what would they be? Only 3, pick wisely.

I think for me maybe 9mm, 22LR, and 556. Nope, i change my mind.
    9mm, 22LR, and 12 gauge.

12 ga for sure. Probably could narrow handgun round down to 45. Rifle round would depend on why I was cutting down. If I was going to live on the land for a summer and hunt, 308. End of the world scenarios and it might be 762x39. Zombies and 556.

Ditto. As long as I could procure or stock thousands of rounds of 300blk without reloading. Otherwise replace it w/ 223/556.

    12ga.
    .308

I made it most of my life when I didn't have much extra money with a .22 , 12ga. and 30-30 , but if I had to do it again it would be a .308 in M4 platform instead of the 30-30 with just 3 .

9mm because It would cover lots of different handguns on the market. I could also choose from many different PCC and up the energy and range of the caliber. I would also choose 5.56 since AR's are everywhere and its an easy caliber to shoot, not expensive and I could hunt anything in my state with it and will clearly work in defensive situations. number three is a bit harder I could pick .22 for any or all the reasons people tend to pick it, but I think it limits me to much if I could pick four calibers I think it would make the list. 308 would be great and I suppose if I was needing to defend my self at long range or needed to penetrate cover it would be great. But that would assume I had the ability and skill for such things and that situation would arise. I think all those are unlikely so I guess I will pass on it. So I will pick 12ga simple for the versatility of loadings. I think if you can only have three they all need to be flexible maybe the best at noting but certainly capable of surviving many roles.

    Um....NO......

The title says "calibers", so 12 gauge doesn't count. As far as calibers, I'd take 17 hmr, 45 acp, and a 270 Winchester.

9mm, 22lr & .308. 9mm for SD, 22lr because I own a can and it's easy to hunt and practice with and 308 for the bigger critters and distances.

Since you didn't say anything about gauges I would be happy with all my shotguns :outtahere:

    .357 Magnum
    .22 LR, I suppose

I could swap 7.62 for 5.56 and .357 for either .45 ACP or 9mm with minimal hurt feelings.

I could also do a .357 Magnum revolvers and a carbine or a 9mm pistol and carbine.

Hmmmmmmm. I think saying 12 gauge is not a caliber is weaseling on the spirit of the question.
9mm. For what most people use their ARs for a 9mm carbine probably works and it takes care of pistols. A .308 which pretty much covers North America and picks up where a 9mm carbine leaves off which is 100 yards. I have not owned a .22 since the 90s and have not shot a shotgun in ten years. But one or the other depending on where, when and how it needs to be used.

Id have included a shotgun but thats kinda a "cheat" imo as it covers several issues..actually if I could have only 1 thats what it would be..it will do everything from Small game(6-trap loads) to large game(slugs) to HD (slugs or Buck Shot) all in 1.

    7mm08 (or 308)

That covers concealed carry, more serious defense as well as small game hunting, and big game hunting
