If the USA got so bad you couldn't take it, where would you go?

Just curious... I hear folks all the time discussing how bad this country is getting and we are all on the road to hell. Not really concerned with what situation or incident would cause you to say "Screw it, I'm out", but where would you go and why would you pick that location????

I'm pretty sure that if and when things get bad enough they will be their own country.

I like the sentiment about Texas. I grew up there. Still have family there so it would be a fit.
One thing though....Don't let your conceptions about Texas be shaped by GT or the movies. Texas is the second most populated state. Three of the 10 largest cities in America are in Texas and those cities are plum full of criminals, desperados, and the type of scum that are bringing the rest of the country down.
It ain't heaven and if and when the SHTF there will be plenty of targets.

I don't know for sure but I lean towards staying here in SC or move back to MO where I have gun crazed survivalist friends.

I have considered where to go, when thinking about all the freedom that has been lost just in my lifetime. However, with no new frontiers, the whole world seems to be losing freedom at about the same rate. Unlike 100 years ago, finding a country that has a balance of freedom and some sort of order is virtually impossible now. I'd favor an independant Alaska.

Are you talking about leaving the country, or just going somewhere other than where we live now?

I was kind of thinking leaving the country, but the responses are more around maybe a government collapse or the like where folks just head for safer ground in the US. Both are interesting, so whichever is ok.

For me, if it were a situation where I needed to just get away from something yet stay in the US I would probably stick with somewhere here in AL. Got 60 acres I could move onto and live the "simple" life.

For leaving the US entirely, I honestly don't have a clue having never lived outside the country.
