If all semis were banned, I'd have to carry a snubby .38, probably my S&W Bodyguard .38.
I no longer have my two 642s but I liked them a lot, too. Other revolvers would be too big for me to carry.
Five would be better than zero.
10 is better still.
Stay evenly balanced like my wife does, a 642 in each jacket pocket and one for each hand. She prefers revolvers. I shoot with both hands and teach all my clients to do the same.
As for me, I will continue to carry my G17 Gen. I, because banning semi-autos is unconstitutional.

I read the bill. It’s like CA bill but first the technology has to be certified by a certain agency or appointee for the law to come into effect.
Second, it doesn’t apply to guns made prior to that certification.
The offense is a 500 dollar fine and the loss of the dealer license. The penalties are for gun dealers although the it’s written, the 500 dollar fine could hit regular people if interpreted a certain way. But it’s aimed at dealers .
There is no law enforcement exception so I doubt the agency or appointee is going to make such declaration about the technology until its possible.
The problem is that transferring a handgun between two licenses individuals would still fall under the law and be banned as it would be transferring an unsafe handgun. IN NYS every handgun you own first has to be added to your specific permit. If NYS will not allow it to be added, used, new or private party sale, it can’t be transferred. Thus a de facto ban meaning that whatever semi auto’s you own on your permit are all you ever will have. NY is the most onerous state to deal with. For example I have a Glock 48 on my permit. My girlfriend does not have my Glock serial number on her permit. Meaning if I let her borrow my Glock 48 and go to the range or carry it, and I was not with her, she would be in violation of NYS law for having an unregistered handgun, meaning she is in possession of a handgun not on her permit.

NYS also passed a law today banning all “other firearms” like stripped AR and Glock lowers. They also passed a law requiring minimum age to purchase a semi-auto rifle is 21 and now it will require the individual to obtain a NYS semi auto rifle permit, which is similar to obtaining a NYS pistol permit.

If you read the actual law, it doesn’t apply to guns made before the law is enacted. It says it in the law.
Yes, I know the NY permit system. I have one myself. It’s why I can’t or won’t buy the latest or greatest because of the hassle of adding it to the permit.
As far as rifle , I live in NYC. I already have to get a permit for EVERY rifle or shotgun I might want. Along with a $200 something dollar fee every three years. Welcome to my world-lol

What exactly do you expect is going to happen on November 8 that will make any kind of a difference?
Republicans take control of the house of representatives and the Democrats lose the power to pass their nonsense laws. The nutjob President becomes effectively powerless.

Literally all Democrats and the vast majority of so called Republicans were in on the election fraud required to "elect" Biden. Don't expect them to suddenly be on our side.

I hate to disagree but the law does not specify as to when the gun was made. It only says sold in the state and thus applies to all semi auto’s sold. Even a person to person sale or transfer falls under this as the language NYS uses is sold and purchased. This is right my county’s permit office and directly from NYS website.

This is from the bill:

“ § 265.38 UNLAWFUL SALE OF A NON-MICROSTAMPING-ENABLED FIREARM.
1. IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL FOR ANY DEALER IN FIREARMS LICENSED UNDER
SECTION 400.00 OF THIS CHAPTER, TO SELL, OFFER FOR SALE, EXCHANGE, GIVE,
TRANSFER OR DELIVER ANY SEMIAUTOMATIC PISTOL UNLESS SUCH PISTOL HAS BEEN
VERIFIED AS A MICROSTAMPING-ENABLED PISTOL. A PISTOL MAY BE VERIFIED AS
MICROSTAMPING-ENABLED IF IT CONTAINS A MICROSTAMP COMPONENT INSTALLED BY
ITS MANUFACTURER OR BY A STATE LICENSED PERSON, ASSOCIATION, PARTNER-
SHIP, CORPORATION, OR OTHER ENTITY IN COMPLIANCE WITH STATE STANDARDS
ESTABLISHED BY THE COMMISSIONER OF THE DIVISION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE
SERVICES OR THEIR DESIGNEE. THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION SHALL NOT
APPLY TO A PISTOL MANUFACTURED PRIOR TO THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS
SECTION.“
The last sentence makes it legal to sell or transfer guns made prior to whenever the appointee decides that mircostamping is available for all new handguns sold in NY.
