NY. The bill A-7926A has passed our senate and our assembly and is headed to our governor for her to sign. In a nutshell it requires all semi auto pistols sold to be micro stamping enabled. Similar to California’s micro stamping requirement. What’s worse is that the bill is so badly written that it would apply to transfers as well. Here in NY you first must obtain a NY conceal carry permit before you can touch, posses or buy any pistol. Once you have the permit you have to get a purchase coupon from an FFL with the serial number and info of the pistol you are buying. You go to your county’s pistol permit office and give them the purchase coupon, pay 5 bucks to have it added to your permit, they issue an updated permit with the new serial number added, and then you go back and pickup your pistol from the FFL. So by also applying to transfer it effectively shuts down even person to person selling as NY would not allow new semi auto pistol serial numbers to be added to one’s permit
F**K New York!

I love revolvers, but if semi-autos were banned, we better carry semi-autos. You let them infringe that and you will soon have no revolvers. England incrementally banned everything until they were too helpless to resist the government. Then they had a knife problem in London and even banned butcher knives.

That would most definitely be time to revolt and carry semi-auto pistols. And even take some politicians lives if needed to get the message across that we will not tolerate our right to bear arms being infringed. If you give these communists even an inch, they will take a mile. History has proven that over and over. If you allow them to take semi-auto pistols away, it will eventually end up with them taking all guns away. That is their end-game and we must resist them at all cost - even at the cost of some of our lives. Otherwise, we will all be their slaves.

I have a Tarus 450 that I carry often AIWB it hides well under a t-shirt and packs quite a punch.

G43. Yeah, I know it's not a revolver, but it's what I will continue to carry. With all of the 'prohibited possessors' running around loose on tyhe streets, I might as well join them.... because I damned-sure will not be out-gunned.

SP101 with +P 158 SWCHP. Follow up shots with .357 and up are just too slow for my taste.

This question reminds me how much things have changed since semi-autos replaced revolvers in law enforcement. Bill Jordan used to say "any lawman that can't solve the problem at hand with the six rounds in his revolver had best spend more time on the range". Nowadays, cops routinely mag-dump because semi-auto split times can be so low and they have the capacity. Not criticizing, just noticing how things have changed.

Re: Mag dump... more related to underpowered weapons. And using up all your ammo ASAP might be popular these days but it's historically always been a pretty stupid thing to do.
