Repeats of the same model even if you didn't have them all at the same time. For any reason, except as a retailer or business. Personally bought or owned at any time even if you trade often or make private sales where allowed.

Votes will be anonymous in case you don't like to publicly share that info.

Another thread made me wonder. Someone said they'd bought four Shield Pluses and I just bought my sixth, for a gift to a relative when she gets her carry permit this week. I recall that some of you have mentioned you've had multiples of some Glock models or ARs. And some have said they've bought replacements for guns they had in the past but lost or let go, maybe more than once.

Needs to be the same model in the same caliber, but can be different generations. Different barrel lengths, sight systems, colors, etc. are okay if it's otherwise the same model. No need to split hairs that much. Use your own judgment for any other variations.

It doesn't matter whether you had all of them at the same time or not. The reason you had them doesn't matter, nor where you got them or what you did with any of them.

Share any details that you'd like to share, of course.

For instance, I bought the Shield Pluses at different times for gifts (perfectly legal where I live as long as the recipient can legally own a firearm) and the first one for me. I still have that one and the newest one for now. I've never had more than three of them at any one time but in all I've bought six. I also bought a duplicate of my 642 revolver because there are two people I wanted to have one someday. And I've had two of the regular Shields. So I'll vote 6 for the Shield Pluses, and also vote 2 because of the two 642s and the two regular Shields I've had. I hope that makes sense.

I was first going to ask only about the greatest quantity, but decided to allow for multiple answers for those who have had more than one of several different models. No need to vote 1 unless you've never gotten more than one of any model.

I'm just curious about how common it is to have had more than one of the same model(s) of firearms over the years for whatever reason, or to buy the same model more than once.

Lot's of 2's though. That's not counting the 3 G17's because 2 are G5 and one is G3. It's also not counting a lot of AR15's because many are similar, but all are slightly different.
I have at least 7 of the Ruger mark .22 series but again all are slightly different.

Different generations are okay to count the same for this, like different generations of the Glock 17. They are all Glock 17's with just relatively minor differences.

Thanks for voting and posting.

I have a safe full of 870s, 3 10-22s, 2 ruger LCPs, 2 Remingtons in .270, 3 heritage rough riders, and I few others that I know I have multiples of…… my reason is I have 2 kids 8 and 9, and they both have their lifetime sportsman license here in the state of Tennessee, one day they are going to want to hunt, and I don’t want there to be any fighting over guns lol

That's sort of why I have most of my guns. I only shoot a few of them and some have never been fired. I've already given some away. I have kids and grandkids that I want to have them someday. Need enough to go around!

‘A shield for you. A shield for you.. and Steph, you’re cool, you get a Shield performance center’

Yep! 😂
I've never bought any of the PC handguns, though. I tend to stick to the plain vanilla models of everything!

I don't have a gun safe, and I just store them (unloaded of course) in their boxes here and there among other stuff. A thief would have to work hard to find all of them. I have a duplicate of my Shield 9 2.0 that I was going to give this granddaughter, because she is very petite and liked shooting mine, but I can't find it! I know it's here somewhere; I found the empty box so it and the magazines are probably in a range bag stuck somewhere. She's getting her carry permit this week so I gave up searching for it and bought yet another Shield Plus. The store didn't have a 2.0, but they are almost exactly the same size anyway. (Fully loaded, all that 147 gr ammo makes it heavier, though.) I'm sure it will turn up sooner or later. (I was two days too early to get the current rebate, doggone it.)

My kids say when I kick the bucket it will be like an Easter egg hunt going through my stuff. I sometimes stash jewelry in odd places, too. I imagine they'll be doing a little cussing, LOL. I need to work on that. They've threatened to buy me a gun safe but I don't have a good place for one.

Some of you have more duplicates of a pistol than I have pistols!

You probably wouldn't even notice one missing.

You may want to remember that as Father's Day, and my birthday, and Christmas come around. I write very nice thank you letters. ;)

:ROFLMAO:
That wouldn't be me but I have a few.

Awhile back someone here asked me if I would adopt them, LOL.
