Repeats of the same model even if you didn't have them all at the same time. For any reason, except as a retailer or business. Personally bought or owned at any time even if you trade often or make private sales where allowed.

Votes will be anonymous in case you don't like to publicly share that info.

Another thread made me wonder. Someone said they'd bought four Shield Pluses and I just bought my sixth, for a gift to a relative when she gets her carry permit this week. I recall that some of you have mentioned you've had multiples of some Glock models or ARs. And some have said they've bought replacements for guns they had in the past but lost or let go, maybe more than once.

Needs to be the same model in the same caliber, but can be different generations. Different barrel lengths, sight systems, colors, etc. are okay if it's otherwise the same model. No need to split hairs that much. Use your own judgment for any other variations.

It doesn't matter whether you had all of them at the same time or not. The reason you had them doesn't matter, nor where you got them or what you did with any of them.

Share any details that you'd like to share, of course.

For instance, I bought the Shield Pluses at different times for gifts (perfectly legal where I live as long as the recipient can legally own a firearm) and the first one for me. I still have that one and the newest one for now. I've never had more than three of them at any one time but in all I've bought six. I also bought a duplicate of my 642 revolver because there are two people I wanted to have one someday. And I've had two of the regular Shields. So I'll vote 6 for the Shield Pluses, and also vote 2 because of the two 642s and the two regular Shields I've had. I hope that makes sense.

I was first going to ask only about the greatest quantity, but decided to allow for multiple answers for those who have had more than one of several different models. No need to vote 1 unless you've never gotten more than one of any model.

I'm just curious about how common it is to have had more than one of the same model(s) of firearms over the years for whatever reason, or to buy the same model more than once.

Lot's of 2's though. That's not counting the 3 G17's because 2 are G5 and one is G3. It's also not counting a lot of AR15's because many are similar, but all are slightly different.
I have at least 7 of the Ruger mark .22 series but again all are slightly different.

I can't recall owning duplicates of any guns (I'm always interested in some new thing to try out) with the exception of Shield 9mms.

I tried a friend's but preferred the new G43, so I didn't buy one.

Later, I saw a good deal locally on Armslist and bought one just to have.

Then a friend was struggling with serious depression so I offered to buy his to get it out of the house. Then I had two I didn't use.

I sold both of those 1.0 models but later picked up a 2.0 model in a trade, which I also never really used. I ended up selling that one just recently.

Now I'm eyeing the Plus. Not sure that I'll get any use out of that either, but based on past precedent, I'll probably end up owning one.

I have two G19s. One is from 1998, the other 1999.

What do I wish I had bought two or more of? Ruger Six revolvers.. most likely the Speed Six. I have one. Wish I had 2 or 3.

Different generations are okay to count the same for this, like different generations of the Glock 17. They are all Glock 17's with just relatively minor differences.

Thanks for voting and posting.

I have somewhat duplicates of many of the firearms I own. But for the most they are a little different.

I might have a dozen Colt Commanders or 1911’s but not exactly the same. Mossberg 590’s are the same.

Many I have 2-3. I have two Wather PPKS one Interarms, one Smith&Wesson. I have Beretta 92/M9’s, Mark 23’s, USP’s, Hi Powers, AR 10’s and 15’s.

I don’t think any are exactly the same, although I may have bought some that way, I swap and test things out on my firearms.

Since I now read different generations I think I’ve had 4 Glock 19s over the years. 5 if the 19c counts.

Still have 2 of the Gen 5s and they are my Glock sweet spot.

I typically like a second copy of my carry gun as a designated dry fire and range gun, also back up for the CCW. So I often have pairs.

I like redundancy.

A long while ago I was a fan of the Kahr K9 for carry. While I only carried one at a time, I had three of them.

if you count “J frame” revolvers as pretty much all the same for this purpose (same holsters and speedloaders after all), I currently have two of those.

(I’m in a “standard capacity” mag restricted state...)

As of this recent Christmas, I have 13 1911's. Now that's a very unlucky number, so this week it will likely be raised to 14.
I have several guns in the vault that are multiples- Colt SAA revolvers are a good example.
Sometimes I just like a certain model and want to see it in stainless or nickel as well as blue. Or I like it, but I like the 7.5" barrel too.
I love having choices and the freedom to pursue them.

Until a week ago, I owned a 1.0 and Plus Shield. I sold the 1.0 to a first time gun owner for a very good deal.
