Bidding on a SS Colt DE 10mm and when/if, I win it's gonna be a badass MOFO!!!
Good luck with the auction, Joe.
Thanks Brian. I've been after one of these for years as a project gun. Got some plans for this baby if I end up up with it.
Just buy a RIA 10mm and be done with it
Hope you get it!
Aren't new Deltas available in stainless still, or is there something desirable about the old ones? I have one bought new a few years ago; also wanted to pick up a used blued model but the guy wouldn't go below $700 and the piece certainly had some noticeable finish wear.
Which one is it? I might want to bid on it too.
I'm messing with you about trying to bid on it. I've always liked those, but I'm not sure if I've seen one in person. Good luck and I hope you get it!!
not sure they go for but there is one on here for sale. couldn't get the website in the post above.
Make sure you get the Underwood DE approved loads...
Very cool indeed
Colt Double Eagle strikes me as one of those guns where, when you tell people about it and act really excited, those around you get quiet because they don't want to let you down. Kind of like the emperor's new clothes...
I can't find any Underwood ammo of any kind right now.
I could be wrong, but I think he's talking about the delta elite.
I also assumed he was talking about a Delta Elite. I didn't even know the Colt Double Eagle existed. That gun looks awful.
It was short lived and unloved.
Though it was prominently featured in a Hong Kong action flick, even got called it by name "Colt Dupal Eegal".
Look at the scene at the 35-seconds mark.

Joe is definitely referring the the Delta Elite, not Double Eagle.
I figured as much, just trying to inject some humor since the pic was linked..
That said, I would looooove me a Colt Delta w/ new sights, C&S ignition and trigger, EGW thumb safety / grip safety and a front strap treatment. Sprinkle some brushed hard chrome pixie dust on it and I'd have me a thermonuclear BBQ gun
especially when the case blows in that huge un supported area.
I honestly dont know why colt still makes un supported 10mm and 38supers
Because Colt knows that the only 100% supported chambers exist in revolvers.
the ramped barrels from literally every other major 1911 maker are a vast improvement. You dont see people making major on traditional colt ramps for a reason.
