The "other" option:
They probably won't do it tbh. S&W will though, so there's one option with that garbage handgun roster. I second the one guy who said get the F out of California.So............ apparently............ and I just checked the California Approved Roster......................
A Ruger MK IV .22 Target Pistol was ADDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to the Roster.
What happened is the roster list was thrown out by a federal court, it has since been "stayed" for appeal. However, the CA Attorney General did not contest the Microstamping law. So now only a magazine safety AND a loaded chamber indicator are required to be added to the roster (both of which the Ruger 22 semi auto pistols already have).
Anyway............... it doesn't matter what your politics or gun toting 2A opinions are. If Glock could make a magazine safety, and adjust their loaded chamber indicator a little bit they would sell EVERY SINGLE ONE and they could get $1000 for it because the Gen5 private party transfers are going for $1200 on the low end.
I'd recommend with models that do not have a Gen3 counterpart already grandfathered on the roster.
My personal preference is the G44, and G48. So I can get my boys to a Glock match and they can shoot rimfire, and maybe Unlimited (with a tamed G48 with puff loads and reduced recoil rod). Anyway...............
PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glock PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But I guess I hope just as much Springfield makes the adjustments with the Hellcat for my conceal carry.
I bet they could do it without a total redesign. There are aftermarket safeties, for example. Not exactly the same thing but illustrates the point that it's possible to modify the functionality. The simplicity of the Glock design should make it easier.A magazine disconnect safety has zero place in Glock’s design. It simply cannot happen without essentially building an entire new gun.
The simplicity of the Glock design is its biggest selling point and possibly its biggest reason for decent reliability. Adding complexity is adding problems. The root cause isn't that Glock won't add a safety or mag disconnect, its imbecilic government policy.I bet they could do it without a total redesign. There are aftermarket safeties, for example. Actually, I believe all firearms and ammunition manufacturers should cease business with CA, along with every state violating the Constitution. That includes law enforcement.So............ apparently............ and I just checked the California Approved Roster......................

Gun companies who had a spine could also not sell to cops or PDs and sheriff's offices in those jurisdictions. Let them have their crappy 10 round magazines and featureless rifles. Is that realistic? Nope but it would be a hilarious sense of justice. The simplicity of the Glock design is its biggest selling point and possibly its biggest reason for decent reliability. People should start suing the LEO orgs for by passing clear safety parameters when they use guns that aren't on the roster...
Based.Glock magazine safety?
