If Kavanaugh is confirmed, and I hope he is.
Will Ruth Ginsburg step down?
What do you think?
She has already stated that she will stay because it is her duty in life to oppose constitutionalism and conservative values. Because the Constitution is an out dated document that needs to “evolve”.
Step down? Hell, I doubt she even knows where and who she is half the time.
I probably should have added to the question. I think if Republicans win in November she will give up and die.
They will have to pry her cold, dead hands away from the bench.
Democrats will immediately move to have him impeached. Just because he made it to the bench, they're not going to let it rest. Don't be surprised if they drag another accuser or two out of the shadows.
You're also going to see more and more of the confrontational approach with people confronting politicians in public.
They'll prop Ginsburg up by tying her to her chair and holding her eyelids open with tooth picks for as long as they can fool the rest of the judges. Trump is going to have to be smart with his next pick, because the Left will learn from their mistakes with Kavanaugh and come ready to play the next time around.
Trump needs to hold some FBI feet at fire and make them investigate the crap the Dimwits have piled up.
Doesn't matter who Trump picks if he gets another one. The Left will do whatever is necessary to smear them too even if they have to find professional liars or people who are completely nuts to create the smear. You won't find anyone any cleaner than Kavanaugh and look what they did to him.
If anything it will push her to stay.
She will stay until at least Summer of 2020. I expect she will step down then only if the Senate is controlled by the left because they won't confirm a Supreme Court Justice in the last year of the presidency.
A second option I see is that she may try hold out until the 2020 election in anticipation of DJT losing to a democrat. But if he wins the re-election, I think she'll throw in the towel. No way she can hold out until 2024.
The biggest problem with our courts is that they are political. Believing in the Constitution shouldn't be a political issue. Protecting our rights shouldn't be up for debate.
That is what the Left has done. They have politicized everything. Science, the law, education, media, etc. Everything has been made political for the purpose of building their power.
Agreed. Hence the need for a constitutionalist justice.
She will never retire, she'll be a John McCain zombie in office as long as she gets away with it.
I think this Halloween would be the ideal time, with Kavanaugh on the bench and the midterms about to happen. Momentum for Judge Amy.
As much as I hate playing the "check the minority box" game, Trump should consider appointing a female next. That's assuming that he has a list of qualified originalists that includes a female judge. That's the only way the left won't come up with another pile of bogus girls crying about red solo cups and misogyny.
And yes, I know that picking someone because they are female is just as bad as excluding someone because they are female, but this is the climate that we have to face right now.
Will Ginsburg step down? Better you should ask, will the bear stop ****ing in the forest?
And if she were ever to step down, Kavanaugh's confirmation would be the absolute last thing in the world to compel her to do so. She's determined hang on until Trump is either impeached or a Democrat is elected in 2020. and if that doesn't happen the old bat is hoping that she'll live to past 100.
She's only 85 and even though she looks half-dead, she could hang on for a long time.
The left will prop her up like El Cid after
she dies, may even mummify her in that
I think she is just conditioning us with her
sleeping act, that way when she is a mummy
it will be more realistic.
What on earth would make you think she would step down? Yes, I am concerned that when she finally kicks the bucket, the left will keep her demise secret and have her stuffed so that she can continue to plug up a seat on the SCOTUS bench.
After all, who would be able to tell?
When your heart only beats one or two times
a minute you can last a long time, that old
tortoise has many years left.
