Every so often I will get IEXPLORE.EXE running processes using up around 50% cpu when IE has been used and closed. When IE is running IEXPLORE.EXE doesn't even use near that much cpu. Now I know that IEXPLORE.EXE opens when internet explorer is opened and normally closed when ie is closed. But occassionally it doesn't and we'll be clueless to it still running except for a slight slowing down. Highlighting IEXPLORE.EXE and hitting the End Task button will make it go away and all is well. I seem to recall reading something about having multiple IE browser windows open and closing out that IEXPLORE is left running eventhough it's not suppose to. Can't remember the details, though. Incidently I don't use IE, my girls do and this happens on the family computer. Any input? BTW, "Switch to Firefox" is not input.
