OK, this week I saw some show about "Monsters" on the History Channel. Part of this show was set fairly close to where I live. I have never seen this supposed "Bigfoot" creature before, nor do I personally know anybody who has.

They interviewed a guy who says he and his son met up with this character in the woods. He was bow hunting, but had a handgun in his coveralls. He drew on the monster. I am thinking a handgun of pretty much any caliber is not really appropriate for a situation such as this. In another incident a guy was in a minivan and "bigfoot thing" started rocking out of his van.

I am thinking if I ever go out wandering around the wilderness of western KY, how should I prepare myself. I DO own a .357 Magnum Ruger, would that be enough? Should I start carrying my SKS in my Explorer or something? Would a SKS be appropriate for fighting Sasquatch?

With 20+1 rounds of 10mm Buffalo Bore 180 Gold Dot in a single magazine, I am confident taking anything but a large bear or maybe a pissed off moose in North America... whatever SUV it is holed up in.

A single-shot .22 Short NAA to kneecap whoever I am with, as to escape, can save me a buck... especially in bear country.

NOW... let us define "Bigfoot". Let's say top end, 8-9' tall, 600-800#. Faster than you, and has killed 20+ people in a 10 year span. Or maybe your average "retired" OG living in the woods...
