Wow, too bad I'm no where near Idaho...Yosemite asked about where all the Arizona Glockers were at in 2008. Well, I know a few that have moved north to Idaho. Like me when I retired. I moved to Garden Valley in 2007, then down to a suburb of Boise in January of this year (2016). I've been an active (very) shooter up here for almost ten years, and I know there is a Glock gang on the block. Just don't know where they are. I know a lot of retired LEO's, and a fair number of them carry Glocks for their CCL go to. The local SO qualifies us with up to three weapons of our choice for the 218 card, annually, and one of my three Glocks is always one of my choices. But I still own a High Power, a 1911, two S&W .357 and one .44mag revolver, a PPK, and the gun I carried on duty, a Sig P229. There are more, but I just want it understood that while I trust and carry Glocks, I trust and carry other weapons as well.
The people I shoot with are focused on personal defense carry, and not so much bullseye unless sighting in a weapon after modifications or changes in hand loads. We tend to shoot steel, reaction targets, and we enjoy some long range practice on targets that will move when hit. We're retired and that makes us old for some of the young people we run into. But I haven't met any group that can routinely out shoot us, or who know more about the weapons we use, then us. When you add in anywhere from 25-50+ years of LE experience, and some common sense, I think we're a contributing group in the Idaho shooting community.
Doesn't matter if you were an LEO, military, fire fighter, civilian, or whatever title you may enjoy. If you like to shoot and do it safely, and if defending your family and community is a big item for you, we'd enjoy getting together. Good, bad, just learning, or long time expert, makes no never mind for us. We don't compete. We just try to get better and use scenarios that are much closer to real life then bullseye shooting.

Wow, too bad I'm no where near Idaho...
Hey Shadow 106 I'm here in good ole Nampa I just joined GSSF this year and plan to shoot there matches. I am now the owner of 3 Glocks I'm in training with them because they shoot different than my 1911 and my CZ 75 P-01. I would think there would be quite a few Glock shooters in the area.
I'm in Nampa. And looking for good places to shoot outdoors.

I am really amazed that after my first post in Glock Talk, five years ago, there are only these few replies. I know that in the last 1-2years, handguns have been flying out the dorr of local gun shops, and a great many of them were Glocks. It is a disturbing thought that so many people are now armed, but a lot of them just bought, loaded and shoved them in their belt with little or no experience. Which is their right, but practice and sharing information with other shooters will make the average shooter more effective and more aware, speaking from over fifty years of experience. You don't have to be a LEO or a Vet to be good or qualified to carry. You have a legal right to do that. But you don't have a right to buy a gun, put it on and go out into the street thinking your a gun fighter for truth, Justice, and the American way, because you aren't. You are a concerned citizen who has made a purchase, and nothing more until you get some training and experience behind you. I love Idaho and the fact that so many people posess weapons for defensive purpose. I also love the fact that even though open carry is legal, few people are so provocatoive that they need to display their EDC. So, whether or not you want to be social with your Glock, or whatever you carry, please get some training that is realistic and not someone's idea of weekend boot camp, 'cause reality just isn't like that.
