It reminds me of model railroaders who build impeccable replicas of old towns, but it's on a much larger scale.

I bought a house that had a Tiki Bar from the fifties in the basement. Burlap, bamboo, and coconut fronds. Everybody thought it was cool.

Looking back, it was an incredible fire hazard.

I have been in a few basements were people purchased abandon furniture including the actual bar and mirror wall from old saloons. Pretty cool stuff.

Both his inspiration and basement project remind me of underground mall areas. No sunlight = not a real feel. It FEELS fake without even looking fake.

You want to see that in real life? Greenfield Village - outside'a Detroit.

That is pretty cool. Looks like several secret places to secure things from unwanted eyes.

I can appreciate the work, but its not for me. I'd rather have a movie theater, or uber vault/panic-room/armory. I was surprised to see a young Mike Rowe.

We shouldn't wish for a basement like that. We should wish for that kind of passion and drive.

My GF's grandfather had a hi-power rifle range under his house (a bit more than "in the basement").
