Stay safe, TH! Dodge those cars! I won't be there. We just moved (ugh!) and have seventy two jillion boxes staring at us. Besides... it is hot and muggy! Just the type of weather that makes body armor sound almost as much fun as a black suit, tie, wool socks, and leather mittens with fuzzy bunny fur liners!

I always enjoyed working the 16th St & Georgetown Road detail the night before the 1st Day of Qualifications and the night before the race. Got to meet lots of interesting people ;) Of course, I was much younger and thats when the 500 would have record attendance. Ah, for the good old days. Stay Safe and Enjoy yourself - Hopefully you won't get rained on :)

Well, heck! That'll make it kind of hard for me to find you & bring you another bottle of water, this year, huh?

    Regardless, welcome to Speedway, again.

A little earlier today, I was coming down Lynhurst in my cop car in bumper-to-bumper traffic. I saw two grim-looking state troopers standing at the corner trying to keep the traffic flowing. I yelled out of my window at them, "Hey...do you know what the difference is between a commode and an Indiana State Trooper?". Both of them scowled and one hollered, "What's that?". I yelled back, "A commode only has to handle one a**hole at a time!".

They both laughed and gave me a thumbs-up.

    Good one Snowman!

Minuteman32, I appreciated the water. Most of you are probobaly to decent to be out on Georgetwon after 9pm. The night was more quiet than usual. The team I am with only handled one fight and a couple of people to drunk to be left alone. We broke up a few flashing incidents.

I saw something crazy today that couldn't even be blamed on the drunken debauchery associated with the race!

I was in the parking lot of my local SUPER MEGALO WAL*MART and a guy zipped into the gas station on a Vespa-style scooter. Wearing nothing but a pair of tiny cut-off shorts. I'm not kidding ... not so much as a courtesy t-shirt.

    Not so weird?

    He was an albino.

Riding on a Vespa, effectively naked, in the intense July sunlight.

Well, okay. I exaggerated ... he was weaing sunglasses too. That probably made all the difference.

He must have been working on his tan. Good luck with THAT, buddy.

How many shootings at this year's Brickyard? A dozen or so, right?

Sure seemed like there was a lot more drunks than the 500!

Unfortunately I didn't get to make it into the race during our relief time. I was so tired that I sat at 10 in my car asleep!
