What if Stalin had lived another ten years as dictator of USSR, or if Nikita Khrushchev never came to power
Biggest question would have been how Stalin chose to deal with client state Cuba, which didn't turn communist til Fulgencio Batista was deposed in 59-60 or so.
During the October crisis at its worst Castro was in his bunker screaming for the launch codes; Kruschev refused and did not want the US attacked.
Stalin probably would have reacted similarly but he was a crazy old bastard so there's no telling. I'm guessing he wouldn't appreciate a client state dragging him into a strategic nuclear war, the difference might have been in how he treated Cuba afterwards. The soviets probably did appreciate Cuba being a thorn in the us's side.
