After a journey through a few other polymers, i realized G19 is where my heart is at. For obvious reasons...

Picked up 2x gen5 19s and headed to the range. Stock sights, lots of ammo. 3 days in a row. I am perfectly fine with the sights. At the end of the weekend i realized i shoot a stock glock with oem sights as good as ones once i had with expensive sights.

Now... Certain situations might demand else. For now these babies are staying how they came from factory and on a strict heavy diet 124mm.

To be honest, sadly, you are completely correct.

On my G23.3 I have TFX and really love them. Very visible at night and WOW in the daylight they pop. This is my carry and the one I am most comfortable with.

But........my G19.4 is quite stock, and to be honest, I find the sight-picture even easier to be accurate with. I am just really struggling to spend $100+ on new sights when shooting the OE bumps just fine.

Flame Suit is on, but that's just how it goes for me.

Put a drop of neon orange on that front white sight and see how quickly your eye catches its... that's what I did..

I know I am in the minority but I have no problems or issues with the stock poly sights. I am not "active" anymore or not an operator. Been using the poly sights for 30yrs and I like them. I will admit that I have replaced a few the Glock steel sights. I tried Glock Night Sights, Meprolights and few others. I shoot better with the stock dot front and the outlined rear notch. For home defense I also use a Streamlight TLR-1HL. When using this light all I can see is the front and rear sight and they are completely black. The light toward the front just causes this with my eyes. One should use whatever works the best for him.

I like the stock sight picture... but the polymer of the sight is flimsy. I have more of an issue with that than the sight picture.

1. Don't use the polymer rear sight to "tactical rack" the slide on a table.
2. Don't drop the gun on the polymer rear sight.

Glock sights are like old stock Colt 1911 sights. They work yes, but you will be more accurate with better sights. They are serviceable just like the old Colt sights. There is a reason why most put better sights on.

I never minded the stock sights until I took them off and marveled at how flimsy and chintzy they were when off the slide. Went with Ameriglos (I Dot Pros with the orange front sight) on all my Glocks and never looked back. Shop around and buy them for $60/set. Really great sights and reasonable.

I use steel factory sights BUT I remember I used the polymer ones with no problems ... They are good to go =)

I’ll agree the polymer sights are serviceable , but my problem might be more of my go to range has a lighting issue.

Plus I never know if I want to carry a 19 or a 26 so I just go ahead and outfit all of my Glocks with the same sights so that I have that sight picture consistency. The durability aspect is another thing to consider.

But hey, to each his own. Enjoy those new Gen 5s!

I honestly don’t dislike the stock sight picture. Every time I test fire a new GLOCK I always shoot it well. I only changed the first set years ago after running a buddy’s gun at a class...the beginning of a slippery and expensive slope.

I use the deluxe stock sights I swap out the polymer for the Metal version so I can chamber a round one handed although I went through a two day class chambering with the plastic sights and they worked very well.
I like to keep it simple and believe that there has to be some reason why Glock made the sights the way they are and it wasn't to support an aftermarket sight market.

And money on new sights and other aftermarket fluff eats into the ammo budget...

Accuracy isn’t the issue with stock poly sights. The issue is durability and ruggedness.

Polymer is easily flexed. Steel is not. Poly sights are only one tactile bump or strike away from being dislodged from the dovetail and inoperable.

Front sight is pretty tough however.
