So my girl was dropping me off from work(we work together and I'm on her way in so we car pool) and was saying good bye and two kids walk down my driveway, unaware that I'm in the car.

I see them kind of checking out my Jeep and stuff and there's some vandals around here so I get out of the car and I kind of sternly asked them "Hey guys, can I help you?" at which point they told me they were selling popcorn.

Then I felt kinda bad and I was hungry so I ordered some caramel popcorn, gave them my address, money and stuff. They said they were boyscouts, but were not in uniform, no neither was wearing a hat.

It's been four months and no popcorn yet, did I get robbed?

The fail is strong in this one.

Whenever I'm approached at my home by children, I always blade away my strong side and inform them that I have a 10mm.

Contact the local pack leader, or look it up online and show up at the pack meeting, perhaps you'll remember the lads and can get your popcorn.

Maybe they were scout whackers, and you got scammed.

I'm sure their shipping agent will be along soon to give you an extra 10% share of popcorn for your troubles.

My GF did that a couple months ago. A kid about the same age came to our door "selling" sandwiches for his school's basketball team or something like that. My GF, being gullible and naive, gave him some cash for a sandwich that was supposed to be delivered in a week. A few months later and we still have no sandwich...

    She doesn't listen to me.

It was only like ten bucks, so I'm not too worried.

I would changed the thread title from "robbed" to "scammed."

I'm glad you are a good sport. It's a shame that today's youth suck so hard at being good citizens. I'd ask around to your neighbors if they experienced anything similar. If so, I'd say reporting it to your local LE would be in order just so it can be documented and other people are made aware...

Scouts aren't supposed to go door-to-door without wearing their Class A uniforms. You got the shaft.

Guess the kids got tired of selling magazines and moved on to popcorn.

I hadn't given it much thought until I remembered today and realized I never got my caramel popcorn.

Upon analyzing the situation my gut told me these kids were up to no good and I approached them sort of aggressively, but reasonably.

When they told me they were selling popcorn I guess I felt bad about my harsh approach and stuff, so I bought some out of slight guilt at yelling at kids. And I freaking love caramel popcorn.

So in retrospect I should have been a scrooge, told them to get off my lawn, then driven to the store and bought some popcorn. Duly noted.

Do they really even go door to door anymore? I can't remember the last time I saw that. I always see them planted outside some large retail store or, far more often, a sign-up sheet in the kitchen at the office from their parents. Yea, I ponied up for 4 boxes of cookies this week.
