So this morning I am out picking some black berries for my breakfast (I mix them with Greek yogurt... very tasty!) and the cats are all rubbing on my legs and such, when I spy IN the very black berry bush (we have two species on our property... this one had no thorns) a very large mouse. Although it may have been a very small rat.

Either way I carry my trusty .22LR Marlin 795 with me every morning so that if I have any morning pests to eliminate I can. Well I see this rodent and I actually had to laugh for a second as to his dilemma which really... if you think about it was quite screwed. There are 4 felines circling the bush, my hand almost grabbed the beggar and he has no where to go. Well... we all have solutions and my cats were not doing their job...

So I shot the rodent and gave it's carcass to my cats... I think I spoil them too much! That was my interesting morning!

I use the 10mm for the wood rats around here, they are nasty if you wound them with a lesser caliber.

I used a broom once on a mouse that had nested in my garage -- figure it was about a 280mm (the broom).

I threw the mouse in the wetlands -- some scavenger got itself a nice snack that day... :)

Guys, you don't have to eat everything you kill. He's using it to fatten up the cats before he eats them. Durrr.

It was cleaned quite well by the 36gr Armscor HP. I think the kitties appreciated it.
