Missing Woman Found Under Hotel Mattress in Memphis

    FOXNews.com

Sony Millbrook had been been renting a room at the Budget Inn, which suddenly stopped receiving payments at the end of January, MyFoxMemphis.com reported.

Memphis authorities are baffled as to how a mother who disappeared in January ended up dead under a hotel mattress -- and wasn't found until nearly two months later.

Sony Millbrook had been been renting a room at the Budget Inn, which suddenly stopped receiving payments at the end of January, MyFoxMemphis.com reported.

That was about the same time that relatives grew concerned because she didn't pick up her kids from school. The family members went to the hotel but didn't find Millbrook there, and she was reported missing Jan. 27.

The hotel boxed up her belonging and released the room for rent. Since then, it has been rented out about five times and cleaned by hotel staff numerous times, MyFoxMemphis.com reported.

The missing person case quickly turned into a homicide investigation when her body was found under the mattress Monday. No suspects have been identified, but police have charged Millbrook's boyfriend, LaKeith Moody, with a gun violation and consider him a person of interest in the case.
Longtime police officials have noted they've "never heard of anything like this," Joseph Scott, Memphis police's deputy chief of investigative services, said. "It's stranger than fiction."

The bed where Millbrook was found is a metal box frame that sits on the floor, and the box springs and mattress are set inside the frame, MyFoxMemphis.com reported.

She's been somebody's sex toy chained to a boiler for the past six weeks and recently dumped. No way she wasn't stinking up the place, unless it's that bad normally.

I don't care how the person died. Unless frozen/preserved/in huge zip lock bag I would smell them. If blood I would smell same day. If no injury/bowels didn't let go maybe two days max. (assuming over 60 degrees F) Now way you wouldn't notice any longer then that.

I know a man that was staying in a motel in Kansas City and on his second night there he complained to the management about the odor in his room. They found a body under his bed that had been there for a couple of days.:alex:

Its hard to believe that other folks stayed there and did not complain about the smell, after that period of time...

One of Richard Kuklinski's victims was under a motel bed and I think the room was rented out like 11 or 13 times before anybody noticed him.
    Strange stuff.

I agree. :wow: But that city has always had a bad rep. I guess this just proves it is bizarre too.

Bodies begin to smell pretty quickly and pretty badly.

So all they need to do is look back 1 or 3 days and you have who ever dumped the body.

    Sorry, I ain't buying it.

I saw a body that was left in a motel room for 4 days and you could notice it a hundred feet away.

We had a local story a few years back where a hotel guest was sleeping atop a body for nearly a week. After a while the smell caused him to investigate and found the body under the bed. As it was told, a previous hotel guest crawled under there and died of a drug OD. It happens.

Was something covering up/sealing in the odor? Kinda suggest the "body was put there recently" story.

You hear about this happening on occasion. Didn't someone on GT have a similar "body under hotel mattress" story?

probably more to it. Hotel employees been investigated?
