    ....with my suppressed Ruger 22/45.

I was at the local range sighting in a red dot on my Ruger 22/45 that I had just gotten back from Hooper Ordnance. Hoop had drilled/tapped my gun for scope mount as well threaded the bull barrel and moved the front sight back.
He walked up and wanted to know if there was any "good brass" laying around.
We got to talking and I asked him if he would fire off some rounds.(I wanted to hear what the can/pistol combo sounded like from a few feet away.) He fired off 5 rounds, and I could tell he was perplexed at the lack of report. I told him it had a suppressor attached.
He freaked out, started telling me how they (silencers) were illegal etc..
I tried to educate him on Texas NFA etc.., even showed him a copy of the Form 4, it did no good. He quickly left before I had time to show him my receipt

Shooting suppressed weapons is very addictive. One of my shooting buds has a MP5 SD. God do I love that weapon!!

The vast majority of Texans have no idea how common full auto weapons and
suppressors are in the state of Texas.

They even have less of a clue as to how many people are carrying concealed.

Texas is definately a very well armed state.:whistling:

You are a trusting soul. For some reason, handing someone you have never met a suppressed pistol then walking off a few feet just hurts my feelings.

Don't mind me. I am just paranoid!

Every time I hear one of these protesters bellowing about how we need to shut down a range due to noise I ask them to sign a petition to eliminate silencer/suppressor laws. For some reason not one has actually signed and they get really flustered.

DON'T CONFUSE PEOPLE WITH THE FACTS!

I had a full auto UZI at a local range. A woman freaked out and reported me to the manager. He assured her I was doing nothing wrong and she went nuts arguing about illegal machine guns. Then she calmed down, called the sheriff and sat there with a smug look on her face as she waited. She was almost giddy when a deputy showed up. He asked about the gun, checked the paperwork, fired off a couple of magazines, shook my hand, looked over at the woman as I pointed to her, laughed and drove off. I thought she was going to have a stroke as he left.

I understand your concern, however, I knew this gentleman's first name and have spoken with him on numerous occasions during my ammo hunting expeditions to "his" WalMart.

If OSHA regulated guns, suppressors would be mandatory.
