    These things have been around for decades. About 25 years ago one was in Popular Mechanics, along with its builders promises that they'd be producing them for sale in two or three years. In the seventies (I think it was), the Russians built one that was jet powered and as big as an airliner. It went pretty fast too. They were thinking about using it as a troop transport.

    Ultimately, when you fully analyze the pros and cons of it, flying really high up in the air is a whole lot safer than flying low enough to hit boats.

    The Russian vehicle used ground effect to provide enough lift to get it out of the water. I don't think the hoverboat does that.

    It's not IF that thing will ever crash, it's WHEN. I hope the guy's Will is in order because I don't see him living much longer. That thing looks very unstable in the air.

    All my helos well the Bells anyway had the Mast nut and we called them the Jesus Nut. If you lose that you go straight to the crash site. :embarassed:
