So I finally got my hands on the new gen 5 19 and 17 today. I have all gen three glocks so I was worried about how the lack of finger grooves would feel. To my surprise I actually like the 19.5 better but not the 17.5. The 17 feels huge to me without finger grooves. My edc is a 17.3. Also the half moon cutout at the bottom of the grip is not an issue to me. My fingers don’t reach it on the 19.5. Anyone have similar results?

I’ll be saving money to get me a 19.5 here in the next few months.

My wife bought me a Gen 5 19 last month for my birthday and I love it. The finger grooves on the 3's and 4's have never bothered me, but I like this new one even more. Love the way it handles and shoots.

All due respect, but I'd say that 99.5% of the people agonizing over which Glock and what-not would do far better to take as much professional handgun training as they can shoot 10,000 rounds through whatever Glock they own rather than worrying about what-nots on which Gen Glocks and so forth.

Funny, I've noticed the same thing in my 19.5. With 150gr HSTs I shot a sub 1" group @15Y a week or so ago. My 115gr FMJ BB groups were a pathetic 2.5 to 3.5 inches @15Y.

I'm not sure why this is, but for now the heavier bullets work great, I being heavier they're more stabolized as they leave the barrel, just a thought, and yes the groups are awesome..

Only if they followed S&W grip texture without the grooves it be worthwhile otherwise nope.

I got to fire a Gen 5 G-19 back in August, nice pistol.

I went to look for a gen 5 the first week they came out . I went into a shop tried out the 19 then the 17 . I took the 17 right home ,came back and got the 19, 2 weeks later . The are both flawless no problems , both have night sights , I like the gen 5 guns .
