So originally I had been set on a X TAC. I had the order in for a few days and got the call back from John stating that installing the speed chute was not a possibility as of yet. Well this was a huge kick in the crotch to me!! From my training and competing experience, a 1911 without a magwell is just useless to me so ultimately that was the deal breaker :crying:
    Instead.....

I ordered a CQB. Heres my specs:
    *Silver frame/msh/barrel bushing
*Black slide/speedchute/recoil plug/and all small parts(safety, grip safety, slide stop, flat trigger, hammer, pins)
    *omit FCS, omit "CQB"
*boot sight rear, red FO front
*bevel frame and flush cut slide stop
*flush cut barrel and reverse crown
    *BP Ambi Safety
    *Speedchute
--I might have forgot something, the invoice is on the shops email, but i think thats it. So how does this sound? Am i forgetting anything? I think im going to cry when i get the gun without FCS because i am like the only one that likes them, but i did want to make it as clean as possible. Oh im also having them fill all those empty mag spaces with ETM's!

I started to really consider the Tactical Elite once the X TAC was a no go, but I didnt want to get a semi custom just to use at the range. The coned barrel is illegal in IDPA and you have to shoot open in uspsa to utilize it. SOOO this guy is going to be my cheaper, utilitarian 1911, and I'll get a coned barrel later, Im thinking I'll probably go to Nighthawk for that anyway...

Anyone have pictures of their CQB w/o FCS to hopefully make me feel better about my decision?

I told John I didnt even want to know LOL. I figured I wont anticipate it as much if I dont know. I asked for the Master dealer bump in the assembly line but obviously thats just a myth LOL. I already set the $ aside for the gun so I dont even need to worry about not purchasing anything else until i get it...

And if anyone else is interested in ordering a WC now or in the future, please give us a shout before you go through someone else!! We are a fairly new store going on our 2nd year and we are trying to build a strong name for ourselves much like the other guys already have. We price our guns very competitively and have a standard market up no matter the gun or its availability. And I have to give myself a pat on the back for outstanding customer service!!!! **joking** Not that self indulged

I hope so!!! Im not sure what everyone's gripe about them is. I could care less if a gun had them or not, but it definitely is easier to do more effective press checks w/ FCS. I guess im just not as big of a tradionalist as some other people. Considering a gun, like the X TAC, which most other people dislike, had me jumping for joy

thanks guys! How many of you would have went with the Elite instead? I personally didnt find it to be cost effective because for the stuff you get. I know there is a difference between good MIM parts and bad MIM and WC def has the good stuff. Like i mentioned i replaced the slide stop and thumb safety out with BP mainly because they get the most use, but the other perks like serrated top and serrated rear didnt really appeal to me. How many like the serrated top?

Wilson currently doesn't use any MIM parts in their guns, however they do use 3 cast parts.( Slide stop, thumb safety, and grip safety) For the nominal upgrade I always upgrade to their bullet proof package which replaces all three. Since you have already upgraded 2 of them, you may want to check what the differrence would be to do the third.

As far as he top and back serrations, I like them both. The CQB compact that I currently have on order included them in the build. I figure once you get to this price point, you might as well get everything you want.

At $2500 there shouldn't be any MIM. :dunno:

There isn't. As stated above there are three cast parts that can be switched out to forged/milled.

Here is a pic of mine with no FCS.

My apologies!! I knew the parts were cast, but i do not understand metal working. I understand bar stock steel parts, but I dont really know the difference between a cast mold and metal injected, can anyone elaborate?

Ya i definitely do like no FCS. I dont hate them like a lot of others, but i think im definitely making the right choice, not doing them, on the WC
