I need pants for work. Business casual. I have several pairs of khakis and such, but they seem to have shrunk lately.

    So I need some suggestions.

    The rules:

    no cargo pants
    no bdus
    no camo
    no jeans

I'm looking for pleated front and those expandable/sliding/elastic wasitbands so that when they shrink it won't be so bad.

Take a look at the premium quality Dockers. I wear them, with cuffs and pleats, four days a week at work. And I have to wear a tie those days, too.

When I go to court for a hearing or take part in an administrative process, I wear a coat and tie with them, and they do just fine. They even have a type that looks like wool.

I get mine at Macy's when they're on sale. Take a look.

As far as shrinking goes, wash them only in cold water and don't use a dryer softener sheet when you dry them. Dry them on very low for a good long time, and they won't shrink.

I second that. Dockers are great.

Just go to Walmart, you can get khakis for less than $20 a pair. I used to buy Dockers, but after ruining a couple of pair at work I just go cheap now. I think the ones I have on are Wranglers.

Haggar VIP pants are the only kind I will wear to work. They will be perfect for work and casual dinner type setting, as well. Thank me later.

5.11 makes some nice slacks with that sliding waistband, and a few extra features thrown in that no one would ever notice. Covert khakis, I think they are called. I've got a pair and I really like them.

Actually, its the diet and working out that changed the distribution of my weight and made some of my pants shrink. :tongueout:

Cuffs will make you look shorter and fatter. Ditto for pleats.

Straight leg, flat front. Plenty of room for your frank'n'beans.

Well then, this is what you would call a good problem.
    Good for you :)
BTW, have you checked out the Gap?

Why would you want to carry your lunch in your pockets? Wouldn't it be better to put it in a lunch bag?

    5.11 Covert khakis - $16.99 + they come with a free belt -
    http://www.lapolicegear.com/511-tactical-covert-pants.html

If you don't buy these, you don't need any pants - they look like dress pants, have the expandable waist band, have hidden side pockets, mag pouches, and are very comfortable.

I bought a pair of Wrangler brand khakis. Believe it or not, they were the best fitting dress pants I've worn ever.

They had a tiny logo on the back, above the pocket, but it was very discrete. Just my .02.
