So I went to a Mob station with my National Guard unit back in 09 but couldn't deploy due to a previous injury from a previous deployement. I turned in a IBA and got the receipt from it. I carried back probably another $4000 worth of crap that I was not given a opportunity to turn in. i tried to turn items in to my Guard unit but they say I have nothing out and owed.

So I get a $4000 collection from DFAS the other day. I can not get anyone on the phone. I sent a email and it said if my National Guard company has nothing on record have them stop the collection. So now my Guard unit says if it was issued at Mob its not them trying to collect but another center. I can not get anyone to tell me who to contact about turning in the items.

What do you guys suggest? I don't deny that I have the items. I have forever been trying to turn them in.

Oh and I have been emailing DFAS about everyday with no responses other than the first one.

Sell it to us and send the money. :)

Just kidding. I can't help. Sorry to hear of the mess. I do hope you kept records of attempts to return gear over last 4 yrs???

It can be a PITA with equipment. More then once I have turned in equipment and person says "You are good, see you later" I ask for receipt. "You don't need one, I signed you off" I get receipt and 5 months later get nasty letter for failure to turn in issued equipment.

No, cause its just been conversations with friends, but they know they don't deny my attempts.

I just want to turn the stuff in!

Call your Congressman. Seriously. If you are trying to use the right channels with no luck, give him/her a call. They have a way of getting wheels turning that you and I can only dream of having.

Why can't you just take the stuff to your old Unit.

They didn't issue it, and refused to take it in, he said.

Exactly, but they are trying to find out who will take it.

Go on AKO and DL your OCIE HR/ Clothing Record.

Some of it is installation property.

Unfortunately I've been ETS'd since 2009 so I no longer have a AKO.
