I think I am going to bite the bullet and buy a Goldwing.

I was strongly considering a concours 14, but even that will not be comfortable enough for my wife and I on the trips I want to take.

I'm an old man at 26. I think I'll get an inexpensive sport bike to keep the wing company.

    What says the hive??????????????????????

If you've ridden one you'll know it's not your Grandfather's Wing!

Great bike with plenty of grunt and unbelievable handling for such a large bike. I've done weeks on the road without issues and one day crossed the Rockies 3 times and covered 1200 miles. Not bad for a peg draggin day out West.

If you're traveling two up I don't believe there's a better, more reliable, easily serviced, touring bike out there. The BMW's service network is scarce and the final drive issues have me leary.

Take the plunge and have a ball. Don't worry about the Wing stigma...it went away with the arrival of the 1800.

From what I've read some like 2 up on a C-14. There are a couple of guys who make back passenger replacement brackets to make the rear pegs more comfy. Others don't like 2 up but it makes them happy not hauling the wife around as the C-14 will run. I'm thinking of a C-14 myself and have been reading up on it at COG.

I'm a Connie owner now, would upgrade to the C14 if I could afford to, but the Wing is my dream machine. If you've ever seen the videos of Yellow Wolf riding the dragon you'd understand why.

I love my Goldwing. It is the first bike I can smoke, listen to Pink Floyd, and Do 1000 mile days on. I keep the other ones for riding around town and just fun ole riding . I wish I would have known that 20 years ago.

    Good Luck and Ride Safe

Get the Wing, get Traxxion Dynamics to redo the forks and shocks. Tune'er up a wee bit and go for broke.

I tried one when they had the Victory demo days here. I wouldn't say that it is remotely a copy of the wing or of anything else.

Don't forget to get a teddy bear and tie it to the trunk.

Congratulations on the new Wing! You'll love it I'm sure. I really like that Titanium color as well. Lots of great trips in your future. Ride safe.

Living a dream aren't you? I am glad someone can. It will happen for me. For now I am happy with my 85 Wing. I have to be happy with it, I cant afford anything else. Congrats on the new ride!! :faint:

What kind of gas mileage do the Goldwings get? If it's anything near the 55 I get on my K1200LTC, I might just trade one of these days. That is real mileage, checked multiple times, doing 80 two up on a freeway. Incredible for such a big bike. I do agree on limited BMW dealerships, the closest one to me is Charlotte or Greenville.

I average 42 on the Highway.

38, if I'm flogging it in the twisties. Oddly enough, I seem to get a little better mileage in higher altitudes.
