I don't have a decent camera yet but hope I will have pics soon. It's a second gen I think, Serial # MKXXXUS

So can I join the club now?

Thanks, I really like it and so does my wife. I always thought glocks werent anything special but ive since learned otherwise. I've only had one problem so far and I'm not sure how to fix it. One of my hi caps is not a factory magazine and it nose dives or jams every other round due to a weak spring. Will a normal glock spring fix it?

    Thanks

    -Jason

Sounds like you need a new spring.. and I think a glock spring will fix it but since you said it was a Hi-cap then you probably need a Hi-cap spring.. having never bought one I have no idea where you could get them.. maybe someone else can comment on that.

The only other thing is to check your mag followers .. the old followers..with the number 2183 on them.. are known to cause some nosediving .. mostly on the last round in the mag... if you have these followers I would suggest you get some of the 9mm3 followers from Glock.. just to be sure... I never had a problem with mine but I didnt want to take a chance.

Just a suggestion.. but I would never trust my life to carrying a gun I have never fired yet... I put a couple hundred rounds of defense ammo through mine without a hitch before I carried it... just to be safe .. though I trust my glock and have never had one single failure with over 10K rounds through it .. I wouldnt recommend someone to carry one without first making sure it functioned flawlessly... just a suggestion! .. no flame intended :)

I'm a total newb. What exactly does the serial number tell you? I have a brand new Glock 19. The serial number is GGB551. What does that mean?

    Thanks,

You carrying it out of the house? And you haven't verified it functions with your carry ammo? Not smart idea. Please put 200 rounds of the ammo you intend to carry to verify 100% functionality. It's a Glock, but everything needs a trial/break-in period. Even you as the new owner!
