I just got back from a hunt w/ a friend..

    We took four hogs, three with a knife and one with a .243. I carried a 10mm to shoot hogs with if needed. I felt well armed. I think your .357 will work great if you are hunting with dogs or can get w/in 25 yards or so.

    I have heard the .44 Mag + arguments, but I have personally shot through hogs with this type of load. This is ungood to a person who spends lots of time and money training dogs. A more moderate load is better, and kills just fine.

    My biggest hog with a knife so far is 400 lbs and my 10mm penatrates much deeper than my knife. Ask the guide what he thinks is best.
