Sounds like some of the toys used by Frank Hamer when he nailed Bonnie and Clyde.

OMG! the militarization of the police!!!!!

People ignorant of history ignore the fact that up until about WWII civilian lawmen were generally better armed than your average soldier was. At least as far as small arms went.

Lawmen historically were the early adopters of new technology. They were the ones carrying lever action rifles while the military stuck with single shot rifles.

Of course that was back when if you wanted to be a lawman you better be able to shoot. Then came along "standardization" and firearms were geared to the lowest common denominator and the most inept shooters.

When Police work gradually de evolved from being lawmen to be social workers with guns.

Yuppers I loved it when the Local FBI armory had the Thompsons we used to bring them to the range for the FunN Gun shoots .. being able to hold one of those beauties and put 50 rounds downrange 15-20 yards into one hole the size of a grapefruit makes all real cops smile.

It certainly showed the men from the boys in who could hold one of those heavy beasts with a fifty round drum up long enough to empty a fifty round drum with accuracy.

As much as I loved playing with the Thompson and the BAR's and accurized Garands from the F.B.I Armory I have to admit I preferred the H&K MP5 over the Thompson.

And for a real blast of full auto fun the American 180 was hard to beat.
