Love my P365. It's the only small carry gun in my collection that I would be willing to take to the range for a 200 round shoot. I'm not saying its a good range gun, just that I would be willing to use it as one if I lost everything else in a boating accident.

Got rid of my 26 a couple years ago and have not regretted it. Never liked shooting it all that much. Its hard to beat a well set-up 17.

I think the 365 is a better subcompact than the 26. If you want parts compatibility and similar feel, the 26 is a great gun. If you want something that's got a better trigger and sights from the factory and fits in a pocket, keep the 365.
I wouldn't consider anything else if I had your two guns.

Can't get on board with the 365. Feels awful in my hand and like another posted the trigger feels too light for carry. My personal preference of course. Love my 26

Personally I don't want a gluck 26 pr a 17 or any other gluck and have no interest in the P365 so G2 man up and make up your own mind as they all work well for many folks .

I have a 27 and a 22. I carry the 27 frequently and only carry the 9 round 27 mags. I’ve never carried both at the same time. I’ve rarely carried larger magazines. So I guess I’m not sure it’s worth switching to a 26 for compatibility with the 17 unless you’re confident you’ll either carry both or the larger mags.

I had a beretta storm carbine years ago that took Beretta 92 magazines. I’d figured I’d carry the 92 and have the carbine in the truck. I never carried the 92 before and just didn’t want to lug it around, so the carbine sat around until I traded it.

hardluk1, Thanks for the advice. Reference my post #31

"I owned a Glock 26 years ago but sold it. I rented both a Glock 26 and P365 prior to purchasing the P365. I chose the P365 for the thinner size and the factory night sights. I like the P365 and will probably continue to carry it. When I can save the cash for a Glock 26 I will buy one."

    :agree:

G26/27 were fine weapons for their time. For me, they were surpassed long ago in terms of size. Of course, if they fit your hand/grip/style, they're still an excellent choice. If you're carrying IWB, the slimmer alternatives make a big difference. If OWB, not so much I guess. I still have a G27.3 that I carried for a few years but it's sat idle for years once slimmer competitors arrived on the scene.

For me, if I'm going to carry a G26/G27 OWB, it's not much of a difference to just carry a 19, which I do occasionally. If I'm going for something smaller/IWB, the G26/27 is just too wide. The P365 is an excellent choice in that case as long as it fits your hand/grip.

G2 Well since your gona keep the p365 why not try out a pne of the sig p320x somethuns . The grip angle with be the same and the trigger on the X series with the straight trigger and new grip design is way nicer that other stock striker pistols . Maybe even a X5 version .

I carried a snob nose and then cm9 kahr over the years at work as a carpenter in a front pocket but pocket carrys not smart really . When you sitting you can not draw your handgun smoothly with out notice and for me its to small to IWB carry . MIght work fine if your small person ! . I carried a 4" class full size for a normal edc over the decades both single stack and double at 3:00 in a high riding iwb I even thought I say try the p320 x compact or carry or X5 I also carry a M&P 4.25 40sw or a lw commander some . Just bought a p320xc for when I might not want to carry a 40sw every day or need optics to place my bullets well ? I liked it so much I ordered the same grip module for my old p320c . BUt I also like the package over all far better than the larger p365xl too !

So since you asked for opinions you now have mine .

No way I'd go from a P365 to a bulky G26 for EDC.
You have a G17 so you got a full size duty pistol covered and a P365 for CCW. What would a G26 do (other than share mags with the G17) that you can't do now?

The G17/26 combo is very versatile. It shouldn’t be underestimated. The baby Glock is no longer the smallest. But it’s amazingly capable for a subcompact.

I personally haven’t been willing to give the P365 a chance since it’s initial release issues. The size is tempting, but I’m in no hurry to jump on the wagon on this one. Maybe someday.

I think the P365 changed the game, its pretty much all I carry now. I have back and hip issues so my days of carrying a full size are over and the 365 is a good middle ground pistol. Its easier to shoot then the 26 but the 26 was a good idea for its time and I'm sure it sold well.

I like the G43 better than either of those...

Where you from? I would trade in a second. I shoot the 26 worse than any other small 9 I've tried. Just not consistent with it.

I had a 26 for longer than I can remember. Had eight mags, installed night sights and purchased a conventional rifled barrel so I could shoot my lead reloads. Liked it a lot. Then I purchased a Sig P365. Much easier to carry, holds ten rounds like the 26 and the trigger is much better, at least on my sample. So after the little Sig proved to be reliable I sold the 26.

For better or for worse, I traded with a local guy for a 26 gen 3 with factory night sights. I bought a couple of Magpul 12 round magazines and a Ghost 3.5 connector for it. Headed to the range tomorrow for testing. Thanks for participating in this thread.

I did the 25 cent trigger job and installed the Ghost 3.5 connector. Took it to the range and shot it using factory and Magpul magazines. All is well and I am happy with it. Onward and upward.
