No...really....I have them on CD, I've been looking at them.

Re-cap: Injured my knee 3 weeks ago, meeting with a orthopeadic surgeon Tuesday, asked the X-ray folks my G.P. works with to give me my x-rays.

And they did....on disc. And the program to view it seems to also be on the disc. So, I've been looking at X-rays of my injured knee.

I have no idea of what I'm looking at.....but still, that's pretty cool!!!

I have both my knee abd back x rays....... Ever had a mri? If not be prepared to be blown away . Very detailed. Not many Ortho will do anything without a mri and even then everything doesn't show up. My next to last knee injury i had a sliver of bone between the joint. They didn't find it until the surgery.

I'm certain the Orthopeadic will get MRIs of both my knees done.

Incredible that they didn't find a sliver of bone even with an MRI.

Thanks buddy. It just costs money, right?

Very cool. When I had my nose worked on a few years ago, I had to get the MRI done at a different location and bring the disc back to my doc. I pulled all the data off the disc just for fun, and still have it and the MRI image reader program. Very fun to look inside your head. Not that anything makes any sense in there!

Did they tell you was messed up with your knee?
I recently went through this with a very small meniscus tear

I really just started this thread because I thought it was so cool that I could look at the X-rays...

Then I figured out that I could save the images and up-load them!!!!

I have no idea why, but this is just fascinating to me.

On a more serious note, I believe I see big scarr tissue on the ligaments on the back of my knee, some bone chips on the side, and some dead bone at the center, at the top of the tibia.

I cannot wait to get the ortho doc's opinion, and then see some MRI results.

Screw it, I'm getting a bottle of vodka and a sharp knife. I can fix this myself!!!!:rofl:

    No!!!

And that's why this is so fascinating to me. A doctor hasn't even looked at these yet, just ya'll here on GT, and just me. Of course an MRI would truly be fascinating.

I do find it weird that the meniscus is not viewable at all.

What was?? The bone sliver?...I'm playing doctor right now.

With the combined powered of GT General Discussion, we can diagnose this. We can rebuild it, make it stronger, faster, better than before.

with an x ray at least you can tell what your looking at, an MRI, good luck! even my PT guy couldn't tell nothing about them, mine was on my shoulder and I had no idea what I was looking at, they rotate and all kinds of crazy stuff.

I have a whole collection of MRI, MRA, MRV and CT discs. I've had enough over the years that my new GP pitched a fit over my longterm exposure to radiation. I've also got quite a few films from back before MRIs images were put on disc. I can't count how many xrays I've had, too. I've had a couple nuclear tests done on my kidneys, too. The nuke tests were easy for me to "read" as I could clearly see kidney function in those. When my docs gave me the official results it was what I thought it was just from watching.

I had four CTs done at the same time once. Two with contrast, two without. Two with me on my back and two on my stomach. I've also had a CT guided kidney biopsy. I can't count how many times I have had a cystoscopy with hydrodistention done under general anesthesia and I have another one scheduled in a couple weeks. The bladder is inflated with a contrast agent and stretched. It is then drained and restretched a second time. After that, it is drained again and solution of heparin, sodium bicarb and some other things are left in the bladder to help sooth it from the irritation. I also had a bladder biopsy done during this same procedure once. I'm she

I hate, hate, hate MRIs even in open machines. I freaked out during my last one. It was finished with a nurse holding one of my hands, my husband holding the other other and I had taken Valium and pain meds beforehand. The place I went to advertises that family or friends are allowed to stay with you and their service was amazing...but I still freaked out in the damn thing.

I've been radiated so much I should glow in the dark.
