Hey guys, I am stationed in Iraq (U.S.Army MP) and I got my Iraqi Ham Radio License. So far they have issued only 174 between Iraqis and us visitors. YI9RWE is my call sign here. I thought it would be something fun to do to have it. I only have 2m gear at home and have not been on HF in a few years. The military has been keeping me pretty busy the last few years, lol.

Sounds good. How about setting up a sked so we can all work Iraq?

A friend worked Afganistan via a Russian in a tank.

Lets us know a good time and band. I've not finished setting up my station at my new QTH, but have a nice setup at work.

I have had several offline request for folks to work Iraq while I am here, but I did not bring any gear with me. I never thought I would be able to get my license while I was here.
