Went to the gun show yesterday with my 13 yr old granddude in tow. I was looking for a G36 45acp. Not too many to be found.:shakehead: Sent the youngster out as "bird dog" and he found 2 - that's exactly TWO dealers that had one displayed! Asked a couple others and they said it wasn't a big seller. I told them they just missed a chance. Prices from $549- $579. Not as bad as expected. Got the (obviously!) $549 one which was the most local dealer AND the selling arm of the indoor shooting range I use. (No extra for that - I asked ...) The young man did his job well so got a $20 finder's fee + lunch. So we bought some stuff to accessorize the new toy and left without me walking too funny from getting reamed on prices (you know what I mean......) All-in-all a good day and now I'm doing a bit of polishing and waiting for the EEZOX to dry on the metal surfaces before re-assembly.

Congratulations! I have been considering a G36 or G30 myself, just need to finish my AR.
You know we want pics even though we know what Glocks look like.

It's nice to find the handgun you are after. Your Grandson being part of it makes it more special.
    Congratulations

Congrats, Hope you like it. I have all of the Glock .45 cal models except for the G-36 so far. I just added a new
G-30 Gen 4 and I hope to collect a G-36 by spring to complete my collection.

The responses I got led me to believe the G36 might be one heading for the "endangered species" list. Majority of the vendors had a surplus of G42 and G43 models. All others were well-represented, too. The 2 that displayed a 36 were a definite minority. I wonder if the 6 rd capacity is a reason. 1911's have what?, 6-8 round capacity? And a whole lotta people have done OK with that. I have a G30sf and do OK but not well enough as I'd like. Fighting it but perhaps age is compromising my strength enough that a few ounces could be the difference. PLUS - added bonus, the 36 fits my GALCO leather holsters for my G19!

My older granddude wants to get a gun (I think he'll like a free G30sf!!!) and a CC permit next year when he makes 21. Have I got a deal for him ....

Get those granddudes into pistols, give them one of yours and I bet they keep it for now on. I still have my .30.30 rifle I got from my grandfather. Although, it was jsut a starter rifle so I could hunt with the men, grand dad gave it to me so that makes it special and I never let it go. Had it 36 years now and he has been gone over half that. I'll never let it go.

Awesome score! Glock 36 is an excellent defensive pistol. Enjoy and be safe.

The 36 is the most accurate Glock I've shot. Enjoy!

Not bad, and the time with the "DUDE" and the stories he will tell years from now are priceless.

We did a lotta .22 shooting when they were a bit younger. I recently bought them each a MilSurp Polish P-64 9mm Makarov and refurbished them. Of course the guns stay at MY HOUSE locked up (for now). Whose got the coolest grandpa?

"What did you get from your grandpa?" "I got a video game!"

"What did you get?" "Oh, I got some clothes. How about you?"

"MY grandpa gave me a 9mm army surplus pistol!!!"

    "WOW!!! Your grandpa is cool!!!"

The youngest that went to the show with me is 13. He's got a while to wait. His older brother is 20 and wants a gun and a CC permit when he hits 21 next year. I guess we got the gun part covered. And I have a friend (that did my CC permit) that'll take care of the boy when he hits the magic 21.
